Featured Worship Leader:Gilbert Hovsepian Having faced persecuti on and numerous threats of violence aft er his father, Rev. Haik Hovsepian, was martyred, Gilbert has used his God-given gift s to encourage others who are

standing for Christ. He has produced over 35 Persian albums and led many members of Iran’s underground churches in worship so they can, ulti mately, experience the Lord’s power in their spiritual lives despite oppositi on.

Session A (10:30-11:30 am)A1. The Church in North Africa Post “Arabic Spring” – Dr. Bassma Dabbour-JaballahAccording to early church theologian Tertullian, “The blood of the martyrs is the [holy] seed....” Dr. Dabbour-Jaballah will provide an insightf ul update on the situati on of the church in North Africa under new politi cal circumstances, followed by a ti me of “Q & A.”

A2. Stretch or Starve? – Malcolm MacLeodWhat kind of Jesus follower do you want to be? What kind of follower does Jesus want you to be? Will you be a Christi an who stretches and grows in difficult circumstances, or one who stalls and starves? This session will look at the expectati ons laid out in Matt hew 10, and will be illustrated using examples of faithful believers with whom we are partnering – those who have set down their own ambiti ons, lift ed up their cross and stepped in behind Jesus...together gaining momentum toward their reward.

A3. The Realiti es, Diffi culti es and Blessings of Working in Restricted Nati ons – The ThornesThis message will encompass what we, as a Gospel/Persecuti on ministry, deal with in a real and practi cal way day by day.

A4. Worship Underground – Gilbert HovsepianUnderstanding worship from the context of living out one’s faith in a hosti le environment. A perspecti ve of worship born in the crucible of persecuti on and loss from an Iranian Christi an to those who have converted to the Christi an faith. “Q & A” followed by prayer for our Iranian brothers and sisters.

Session B (2:15-3:15 pm)B1. Faith Comes by Hearing – Pastor TerryLearn how to hear the “sti ll small voice” of the Lord in the midst of a storm.

B2. North Korea - Q & A – Pastor Eric FoleyThis workshop is formatt ed as an open forum dialogue. Pastor Foley does a masterful job weaving details of North Korean history with cultural and social understanding, while answering questi ons in a down-to-earth, engaging manner that brings insight...and a heart for the Korean people.

B3. The Double-Edged Sword – Ingrid HajenWomen in persecuted nati ons live with a double-edged disadvantage. Not only are they looked down upon as “women,” enduring abuse and restricti ons because of their gender, but their status as “Christi an” implies much of the same. This creates an atmosphere that can be extremely discouraging, isolati ng and dangerous. In this session, you will learn about the struggles of persecuted women from VOMC’s Women’s Ministry Coordinator, Ingrid Hajen. You also will be given the opportunity to not only hear, learn, and pray for these women, but to acti vely parti cipate in a project to bring blessing and encouragement to our precious sisters.

B4. Are We Our Brothers’ Keeper? – Tom Zurowski“Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep” (Romans 12:15 ESV). Our brothers and sisters need more than “fair weathered” friends. Together, we can make a difference, reminding those who suffer that they are not forgott en.
