The chal- lenge was you had to reach exactly 21 points, including 2 point shots and free throws (1 point). One of us would often stand on the free throw line trying to hit one more free throw to win. Some of us loved the pressure, some of us hated it. If you miss that shot, however, you go back to 13 points. It’s kind of like starting over, but it’s your own fault. Most of the times we have to start over, or we’ve been “knocked back”, the blame lies on us. We do something wrong, or we didn’t do enough right, and just like that, we are back where we started. How do you recover from those mistakes, those failures? How do you get back up? 1. Recognize that you aren’t finished yet. You may have been knocked down (maybe it was your fault), but you aren’t out. 2. Realize the conditions of your fall. We need to realize how we got knocked down and know the contributors of your fall. This is part of the education we need so that we don’t repeat the same mistake, and fall in the same hole. 3. We need to make some changes. We often go through life just assuming things will be different if we just keep moving forward. However, we must make improvements along the way. We must avoid some areas that led to the downfall, and we must begin to do some things to keep us moving forward. We all get knocked back from time to time. God is right there for us when we fail. Inside this issue:

I grew up playing a basketball game called “21”. The chal-

lenge was you had to reach exactly 21 points, including 2 point shots

and free throws (1 point). One of us would often stand on the free

throw line trying to hit one more free throw to win. Some of us loved the pressure,

some of us hated it. If you miss that shot, however, you go back to 13 points. It’s kind

of like starting over, but it’s your own fault.

Most of the times we have to start over, or we’ve been “knocked back”, the

blame lies on us. We do something wrong, or we didn’t do enough right, and just like

that, we are back where we started. How do you recover from those mistakes, those

failures? How do you get back up?

1. Recognize that you aren’t finished yet.

You may have been knocked down (maybe it was your fault), but

you aren’t out.

2. Realize the conditions of your fall.

We need to realize how we got knocked down and know the

contributors of your fall. This is part of the education we need so

that we don’t repeat the same mistake, and fall in the same hole.

3. We need to make some changes.

We often go through life just assuming things will be different if we

just keep moving forward. However, we must make improvements

along the way. We must avoid some areas that led to the downfall,

and we must begin to do some things to keep us moving forward.

We all get knocked back from time to time. God is right there for us when we

fail. It is only God that strengthens us enough to get going again. All praise to our

Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that refuses to give up on us.

PAGE 2 THE TRIUMPH A PLACE OF HOPE!

UBC Kids have had an amazing summer with VBS and

Kids Camp! I want to take a moment to say "Thank you"

to all volunteers who worked extra above and beyond this

summer to make it such a success. I appreciate each of

you! It is hard to believe we are about to begin a new

school year.

Take a moment and review what is to come in UBC Kids

this month in August.

UBC Promotion Sunday will take place on Sun-day August 11th. All kids will move up to the next grade in all

our programs. If your child is going into Kindergar-ten they will join Children's Church, if they are go-ing into 6th grade they will move onto the UBC youth group on Sunday August 11th. Wishing every-one a wonderful school year.

Our Wednesday night program will

resume on Wednesday August 21st

every Wednesday at 7pm until 8pm.

This evening includes, fellowship, bible lessons, and

game time. The program is for kids K-5th Grade. We

look forward to a great year in Kidzlife.

Our Sunday night Kids program contin-ues every Sunday night from 6-7pm. This program is for Kids K-5th Grade and we will begin practicing for our Christmas program in September. See Trevin or Lyndsey to sign up.
