Baccalaureate Service

Each year we partner with the churches of our community ministerial to provide a baccalaureate service for Paynesville High School graduates, their families, friends, and anyone who would like to attend. This service is planned and put together by our Paynesville students with the support of all our community pastors. This year the service will be held at Paynesville Evangelical Free Church at 4:30pm on Sunday, May 20

Nope, you cannot graduate from church - because we are always the church together! However, we will have an opportunity to recognize all our graduates on Sunday, May 27th (Memorial Day Weekend) as a part of our 9:30 am worship service. Bible Camp Opportunity

Bible Camp has been a vital part of our ministry. Thanks to our church-wide camp experience we have active youth and adults working side by side year-round. It’s a life-giving experience for us as individuals and as a community.

Lately, we’ve been filling the camp to capacity, so more room is greatly needed! And thanks to the work of the Camp House staff and the whole of Green Lake Lutheran Ministries we are excited to be able to have one more cabin to use for our future weeks at camp! Camp House is renovating a different building for a workshop, freeing up space for more beds! You can help us partner with the camp so this can happen!

We hope to raise $4,500 for this project, and there are many ways you can help:

Pray for the ongoing ministry and partnership of PLC and Camp House/Green Lake Lutheran Ministries and how this ministry helps all who attend grow in their faith in Christ.

Please consider giving funds to help support this project.

Also, consider sharing any unused tools that have been just taking up space in your garage or basement. Below you will see a sample list of items the camp could use. If you have other items you think would be helpful that are not on the list just let us know and we will find out if they would be useful.

CAMP FOR ALL AGES! Camp House

July 2018 We have been blessed over the past several years to attend Bible camp as an entire congregation. This year we are all set for another great summer Bible camp experience at CAMP HOUSE! Registration is NOW OPEN! Come as a volunteers, as a family, as an individual or as a part of the confirmation program or the peer ministry program - all are welcome! PLC will be at Camp House from July 20

They love talking about camp. Our week at camp has filled in the past so this year it will be important to get your registration in early. See you at camp!

PLC Quilters

The PLC Monday Quilters have been busy once again this year. We have competed 170 quilts! Some of these quilts have been given to the Paynesville Community Center, Eagles Nest project, Woodbury Community Church Thailand Refugee Relief project, Haiti mission school, our graduating seniors, Lutheran World Relief, and members of our congregation who are going through difficult times. Thank you to the women who give of their time and talent each Monday. Without your dedication this important mission work couldn’t be done. Thanks to everyone who donated fabric, sheets, yarn and other supplies. Please remember the Monday Quilters when you are cleaning out closets, drawers, sewing rooms etc. as we appreciate everything you give to us.! It is God’s work using our Hands!

PLC Staff

We are extremely fortunate at PLC to have a staff that is so dedicated to the lives and ministry of this church and community. And we do our best to make ourselves available when you need us – even outside of regular hours in times of emergency. I know you are as grateful as I am for their dedication and willingness to serve above and beyond what’s asked of them.

However, we could use your help. We know there are many things happening for you and our church outside of regular hours, but we have set office hours so our staff can have healthy boundaries between work and family life. We’d ask that you help us by not contacting the PLC staff at home or on their cell phones for reasons that are not an emergency. This is especially true for our office manager, Tammy. She works unbelievably hard for us but her job is not 24/7. Please refrain from contacting her outside of posted office hours, on weekends, and her days off unless it is an emergency and you cannot get in touch with a pastor.

We are grateful for a loving, supportive community here at PLC and are grateful for your help in respecting all our staff members’ time outside of this place and helping us all to maintain healthy boundaries. Thank you for your help and for being partners in ministry! Blessings, Pastor Paul

Part-Time Custodian Needed

Part-time custodian needed for Paynesville Lutheran church. Looking for a positive individual who enjoys being a part of a ministry team. Some of the duties include general janitorial duties, removal of garbage, set up rooms for classes as needed, changing of furnace filters, light maintenance, ordering and maintaining janitorial items, etc...
