WHY SHOULD YOU PARTICIPATE?

This will be the 7th year that the College of Surgeons, Academy of Medicine, Malaysia in collaboration with the Advanced Surgical Skills Centre (ASSC), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia organising the event. Students will learn and showcase their skill with the application of principles of surgical techniques including theatre etiquette, two handed & single handed knot tying, instrument ties, interrupted and continuous suturing, sub-cuticular and mattress suturing as well as managing wounds. The teaching will be done in a group with demonstrations and hands-on practical sessions. The objective of this course is to provide the medical students and exposure to the surgical environment thus can initiate interest among medical students to enter surgical training. This will also give the student opportunity to gain new knowledge and gather useful experiences.

The top 5 participants in the Final will get

complimentary registration to attend The

College of Surgeons Academy of Medicine of

Malaysia Annual Scientific Meeting that will be

held in Kuala Lumpur. In The champion will also

receive the President’s Medal at the CSAMM

Gala Dinner during the above meeting which is

to be held from 2-4 August 2019 along with

transportation and accommodation.

PRIZES

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

All medical students in their clinical years

(3rd, 4th and 5th year) from government and

private medical schools are welcomed to

participate.

COMPETITION FORMAT

Participants will need to attend one of the qualifying heat dates to take part in the competition. The total scores of the participants will be calculated at the end of the 4th heat to determine the finalists.
