2019 Annual Meeting Minutes

Welcome to the 68th Annual Meeting of the Ozark Federal Credit Union! We are saddened that COVID-19 prevents us from meeting in person this year, as we enjoy seeing our faithful members year after year. But we hope you receive our warmest “e-wishes” as you either view us online via Zoom or review these reports on our website.

2019 was another year of member service, growth and good reviews for the Credit Union! As you can see from our financial statements, we are still growing – we gained 701 members in 2019 and our assets jumped up over $4.6 million to end the year at $64.8 million. (Thanks to recent Economic Impact Payments in 2020, we are currently over $73 million in total assets!) Our net income nearly doubled from 2018, even as we passed along a lot of that to you in dividends, which increased 33%.

Our biggest news for 2019 was the completion of our new, BEAUTIFUL, full-service branch building in Dexter, MO. It really is a stunning building. We hope you get a chance to go by sometime and see for yourself. We opened for business there on December 23, just in time for Christmas.

One lesson we’ve all learned from COVID-19 is that so much can be done electronically these days. We know many of you prefer the face-to-face approach, but when that is not possible, or just not safe, it’s great to know you can do almost all of your business with us through electronic means. Whether it’s direct deposit, or remote (mobile) deposit (where you take a picture of a check and transmit it to us), or online banking/bill pay through our website OR our mobile app for smartphones, we’ve got you covered for all your transaction needs at the credit union. You can even apply for loans and sign your documents electronically via email. We’ve done our very best this spring to be here for you and I’m proud of the staff. We barely missed a step in serving our members.

Supervisory Committee Report for 2019

The Supervisory Committee is a volunteer group tasked with establishing and maintaining effective

internal controls, some of which even include oversight of the Board of Directors. They meet throughout

the year and review audit reports, Board meeting minutes, file maintenance records and other items

prepared by our internal auditor. They also contract with a CPA firm to assist in the audit requirements.

For 2019, the Committee reviewed three outside audit reports:

Lang & Associates (CPA) annual audit

Lang & Associates BSA (Bank Secrecy Act) and ACH audits

NCUA examination

Only minor exceptions were noted and have been adjusted or corrected.

One other duty of the Committee is to conduct an all-member account verification at least bi-annually.

This will be done in June, 2020 with the quarterly statements.
