Veeam...oledcomm to present liFi technologies

Software. “It offers a great platform for vendors, partners and customers to get together and share ideas. Over the past five years we have used GITEX as an opportunity to showcase our products and capabilities and to meet with both existing and prospective clients and partners. I can attribute much of our success to the relationships we have built and fostered at the event and I expect GITEX 2015 to be no different.”

Petersen underlines that data centre consolation and virtualisation are the big trends here in the Middle East, as such it will have a big impact on the regional ICT industry over the next few years. Veeam is uniquely

positioned to help customers transition to these technologies, he says.

“There are still a skills shortages in the region that doesn’t allow people to plan and then implement a successful Disaster Recovery (DR) strategy,” explains Petersen. “Secondly the cost and/ rentals of bandwidth prohibit people from moving forward with any DR strategy. This is one of the reasons why we are seeing an increased interest in Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) and backup as a Service (BaaS). Veeam is uniquely placed with Veeam Cloud Connect solution to help partners offer these services to their clients.”

Visit Veeam at Hall 6, Stand CLD-24.

Oledcomm, a French company that develops Light Fidelity or LiFi technology has announced its participation at GITEX.

LiFi is a new optical wireless communication using LED lighting to send numerical data. Oledcomm will introduce its new solutions at the mega technology event, at Hall 4 on the French Pavilion, booth Systematic.

The company designs, manufactures and markets solutions for transforming a lighting network into a real communication network that is ecological, economic and secure just with simple LEDs. According to them, LiFi opens a new era in wireless data without electromagnetic pollution, without saturation of bandwidth and with a cost much lower than WiFi installation. It can also enable communication where the WiFi was not allowed or when it is disrupted by the surrounding metal frameworks and of course underwater.

Oledcomm will also present their latest LiFi solutions namely the, GEOLiFi and LiFiNET.

Oracle has announced that it will be participating in this year’s GITEX Technology Week, with “Journey to the Cloud” as its theme.

The company’s participation will showcase features such as the Oracle Cloud Zone, Oracle

VIP Hospitality Majlis, Ask the Oracle Expert Zone and consulting meeting rooms.

It will also host discussion forums, product demonstrations and expert sessions to give visitors an insight into the latest Oracle public and private cloud offerings. 40 Oracle partners will also be actively involved at Oracle’s exhibition area at Hall 5.

“Most businesspeople we speak to in the Middle East acknowledges that some part of their business has already been committed or will be committed to the cloud,” said Dana Murugan, Senior Director, Marketing, Middle East and Africa, Oracle. “We will use GITEX this year to take visitors on a journey, to help them identify the cloud solutions and

opportunities that exist for their own business.

He pointed out, too, that many organisations are challenged by the shift in mindset that is often required when consuming SaaS, PaaS or IaaS. “Services and software delivered on the cloud have a transformational impact on business itself. Cloud services delivered in real-time mean workers can do things faster, have more information immediately available, which in turn enables them to interact with people and processes in a more agile way. We want these conversations at GITEX to help customers ease their journey to the cloud.

“We value the importance of GITEX as an opportunity to demonstrate the success our

customers and Oracle partners are experiencing with our latest product offerings, and therefore Oracle continues to invest significantly in the event,” Murugan added.
