Welcome to the 2015 academic year! Welcome to the 2015 school year at Trinity! Yet again the year at Trinity has commenced on a wonderfully positive note. It is encouraging to see the enthusiasm and the excitement in the faces of students as they return to the College or commence their relationship with the College community as new students! As has become the trend at Trinity, we welcome another large number of new students and families into the College community in 2015. More than 150 young people across both campuses have again joined the ranks of Trinity students this year. On Thursday, 5 February the College welcomed the Chair of the ASC Board, Mrs Barbara Godwin and the CEO of the ASC, The Rev’d Peter Laurence to its 2015 Commencement Chapel Service. Amongst other special guests at the service was The Most Reverend John Parkes, Bishop of Wangaratta, who remains the Visitor to the College. The service enabled students and staff to commence the new school year in prayer and community, and it also provided the College to be addressed by Mrs Godwin and The Reverend Laurence. I thank our guests for making the effort to be with us on Thursday. 2015 Staff and Staffing News I take this opportunity to welcome new staff to the College this year. These staff include:

Ms Kristy Jakic: who takes up the role of Principal’s Personal Assistant. Kristy has been the Practice Manager for Dr Terrence Hillier, a local surgeon’s rooms for a number of years;

Mrs Pieta Swann: Mrs Swann will work as a Teacher’s Aide in the Tutorial Centre, taking up the vacancy left by Tracey Bradford now that the Bradford’s have returned home to the UK;

Mrs Glenda Jones: Glenda is taking on the full-time role of Receptionist at the College’s Wodonga campus and comes to us with many years of school-based administration experience;

Mrs Janelle Parker: Janelle will undertake the role of Library Technician in 2015. Janelle is well known to most of us both as a parent and as part of the Administration staff covering Mrs Lee Kelb’s term of long service leave in 2014;

Mr Andrew Holland: will teach PDHPE across both campuses in 2015. Mr Holland was on staff for many years at The Scots School, Albury until a change of scenery a few years ago;

Ms Kim Graetz: Kim comes to Trinity as an experienced teacher of Mathematics, with several years teaching in both the NSW and VIC Education Departments;

Mr Stephen Kilgour: is returning home to Albury after teaching English for a number of years in the Senior School of an independent school in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. Mr Kilgour takes on Mrs Lorraine Willis’ teaching load after her promotion to a Deputy Principal’s role at Xavier High School;

Mr William Muir: who joins the Science Department in the Senior School having recently returned from teaching in the UK in an independent school in London;

Ms Renee Vanegmond: Ms Vanegmond will be known to many already as a parent and as one of our regular casual teachers in 2014. She takes on one of our Year 5 classes at the Albury campus this year;

Ms Mel Routledge: Ms Routledge is originally from the UK, began her teaching career in England but several years ago moved to Sydney and has been teaching in some Department schools since. Ms Routledge will teach one of our two Year 6 classes in 2015;

Ms Kerrie Wheeler: joins the Junior School staff at the Wodonga campus and will teach the stand alone Year 3 class in 2015. Ms Wheeler has been teaching locally in recent years;

Mr Paul Rovere: Paul joins the Junior School staff at the Albury campus and will take on one of the two Year 3 classes. Paul has most recently been on staff at The Scots School, Albury and before this was on staff at the Junior School at a leading independent school in Sydney;

Mrs Karen Phillips: Karen has been on staff at our Wodonga campus for a number of years but in 2015 will move across to a part-time role in the Administration team at the Albury campus. Karen’s focus will largely be on assisting Greg Davis with his work as Business Manager. I thank Karen for her great work and loyalty she has always shown as the Receptionist at the Wodonga campus and welcome her to the Admin team at the Albury campus.

Mrs Janine Haymes: following Mrs Willis’ resignation from staff late last year, I have appointed Mrs Janine Haymes to the position of Assistant Head of Senior School. Mrs Haymes is well established in the Senior School and has commenced the year in the role with the enthusiasm and professionalism which are hallmarks of her work at the College.

I warmly welcome all new staff and those who have returned to or changed their role at the College in recent times! The calibre of the staff at the College is very strong and I am confident that the 2015 team is well-placed to achieve some wonderful things with our students and the broader College community! HSC Achievements & Success It is important that the College acknowledges and celebrates its HSC students on their achievements at the beginning of each school year. In terms of the 2014 HSC results, the College is once again very proud of all of our Year 12 students and their respective individual results. Well done to all students, teachers and parents involved in last year’s HSC programme! Along with some very pleasing top end results, many of last year’s HSC students achieved what I like to call ‘personal best’ results across a number of subjects. For these students, being a student at Trinity contributes to this personal success and to achieving results which enable them to pursue courses of study at university or TAFE or their chosen occupation with a great sense of confidence. It is right that we always remember these success stories along with the students who achieve results at the very top of their HSC subjects. In this context, Trinity continues to do very well indeed with nearly 25% of students achieving Band 6 results in at least one of their chosen subjects. 15% of last year’s students recorded ATARs of 90+ while 26% of students achieved an ATAR of 80+.

Kate Lowe was acknowledged on the BOSTES Top Achievers list as she finished in the top 10

students in the State in Hospitality Examination (which had approximately 6500 students

complete this subject as part of their HSC)! This is a wonderful achievement and the second

year running that a Trinity student has been identified on the Top Achievers List for

Hospitality Examination.

Another group of 12 students were acknowledged on the BOSTES Distinguished Achievers

List for Band 6 results in various subjects. These students included:

Capital Works Update The College has taken possession of its new Trade Skills Centre at the Albury campus. This is a very welcome facility which will now enable us to offer and run Construction Carpentry to students as a VET course. The Centre will also enable the teaching of our range of Design and Technology subjects in brand new and state of the art workshops and learning areas. I am looking forward to visiting classes in the new Trades Skills Centre in the weeks ahead! Work has commenced on our new Senior School building after Zauner Constructions won the tender for this important development. The site, which is located behind the Library, Trades Skill Centre and the Ian Glachan Wing is enormous and is indicative of the scope of works ahead of us! The facility will provide 20 learning spaces and will enable us to retire almost all of our portable classroom buildings which currently house many subjects in the Senior School timetable! I am sure that students, staff and parents will take great interest in the building as it starts to rise from the site in the months ahead.

The College had hoped to have the classrooms at the Wodonga campus relocated before the new school year commenced. Unfortunately this was not possible and we are working with the various agencies and contractors towards achieving the move towards the end of Term 1 and across the Easter holidays. I will certainly keep the community up to date with this important development. The new oval in the north-west corner of the Albury campus is currently being designed and we hope to make a start on it within the next few weeks. Again, this is another important capital development and we are keen to ensure that all aspects of its design and development are designed and developed properly. The Sports COLA (Covered Outdoor Learning Area) and the staff car park are developments which will occur in the second half of 2015. The construction traffic coming in and out of the Senior School construction compound limits our capacity to undertake these works easily and effectively; so it has been decided that we will leave these works until later in the year. In terms of our capital developments, 2015 is shaping up to be the busiest year for the College ever. We are able to complete such an extensive list of capital projects only through the support of the Anglican Schools Commission (ASC). Again, this is one of the tangible benefits of our membership of the ASC! 2015 Trinity Wall Calendar The College’s wall calendar was sent home with reports to each family at the end of last year and to new families during the course of the New Year. I hope that this document will assist students and families as they plan ahead and keep up to date with the major events which will occur at the College this year. It is very important that we acknowledge and thank the corporate sponsors which made the calendar possible. Once again, welcome back to all students, parents and staff! I hope that 2015 will be a year

of endeavour, achievement and excellence for everyone involved in the life and operations of

the College!

It is great to welcome back all of the continuing Trinity students and their families from 2014

and to meet many of new 2015 students.

At the start of the school year, parents are reminded that the student diary or email with

staff are the most useful tools for communication between school and home. Parents should

ensure that they are following the correct path of communication by speaking with the class

teacher in the Junior School or the Pastoral Care Tutor in the Senior School as a first contact

should any issue become apparent. From this initial contact, often the enquiry can be quickly

directed to other staff who may need to be involved.

The staff car park has a separate entry and exit from the main car park at the College, this

entry is also shared with the buses. Parents are asked to avoid using this entry as it is an area

where there is often much student and vehicle movement. By restricting the number of cars

in and out we are reducing the chance of serious injury, particularly at the start and end of

the school day.

A reminder for all Year 7 students and others who are new to the Senior School about uniform

requirements in relation to Physical Education. Students in Years 7-12 will be expected to

bring their sports uniform with them to school on PE days and change prior to and at the

completion of PE practical sessions. If there are special days such as swimming, cross country

etc. the students will be informed well in advance of the uniform requirements for these

days.

This semester parent teacher interviews will be conducted at the following times (booking

codes and the website address required to make bookings for these interviews will be

included in the next newsletter;

Junior School Albury interviews will be conducted on Monday 2 and Tuesday 3 of

March. The interviews will run from 3.30pm – 7.00pm on Monday and 3.30pm –

5.30pm on Tuesday.

Junior School Wodonga interviews will be conducted on Monday 2 and Tuesday 3 of

March. The interviews will run from 3.30pm – 7.00pm on Monday and 3.30pm –

5.30pm on Tuesday.

Year 7: there are two separate evenings to allow parents the opportunity to book

interview times that suit them. Both evenings will operate from 3.30pm – 8.00pm and

occur on the following dates, Monday 23 February and Wednesday 4 March.

Years 8 – 11: there will be one full day on day one of Term 2, therefore on this day

there will be no school for Senior School students. Monday 20 April, starting at 8.00am

and concluding at 8.00pm.

Year 12: Wednesday 13 May, 3.30pm – 7.30pm

2014 was the first year of our new staff appraisal process, known as Collaborative

Professional Attainment (CPA). Many parents were asked, as part of this program to

complete online surveys 2014 as one means of collecting data to allow professional

conversations to occur with some staff. It is with this in mind that you are reminded that

throughout the year you may be randomly selected to complete a survey as part of this

process, which will allow us to gather information to assist our professional practice.

Classroom observations form a large part of the process. Central to CPA is the view that

teachers are professionals who have a high degree of ownership in the process. Given this

activity, it is increasingly likely that students will find a range of teachers in their classrooms.

Thus it is important that students and parents understand that at different times this year

other staff will be observing the learning and teaching in a range of classrooms.

I wish all students, staff and parents a productive, safe and happy 2015.

‘Don’t you know Me…?’

Have you had one of those awkward moments when you are about to introduce your best

buddy to an old friend and suddenly you can’t think of anyone’s name? Today’s verse involves

a similarly embarrassing moment in the friendship of Jesus and His Follower and friend

Phillip. Jesus’ conversations, actions and instructions had always been about showing who

God the father was, and then this little interchange happened:

‘Show us your Father, then!’ retorted Phillip.

‘Don’t you know Me…?

Phillip had missed the crucial part of who Jesus was even though he’d spent so much time

with Him. If you were asked questions like ‘What upsets Jesus?’ or ‘What would he like to see

happen most in your family/ workplace/ school?’ or ‘What makes Him happy?’ what would

your answer be? Would you be able to give one that reflected what Jesus would say? Or, like

Phillip, maybe you’re still wondering what Jesus is really all about, at the most basic level. If

you’re not sure, it’s time to start digging around to see what Jesus really has to say about

Himself.

The best way to get to do that is to look in the Bible. God’s desire is always for you to know

Him more. If you’ve dropped the habit of reading the Bible, or haven’t started, why not start

reading.

Disability Provisions for HSC Examinations

The Board of Studies offers special consideration for the examinations of students who are

experiencing significant disadvantage because of conditions that impair their ability to

perform in the examination setting. In order to access this consideration, students must

undertake an application process. Students who think that they might be eligible are

encouraged to speak to me.

Year 10 Parent Information Evening

The Record of Student Achievement (RoSA) credential differs from the old School Certificate

in a number of important ways. In order to explain the key differences, the school is

conducting a Year 10 Information Evening on Wednesday 18th February from 7pm. Please

note this important date in your diaries. Please contact me if you have any queries about

these matters.

Director of Studies

The start to the 2015 school year has been very smooth thanks to the preparation of staff in

the previous two weeks. Last Friday saw Year 7 and 12 return. Year 7 spent the day getting

organised with lockers, timetables, making sure they knew which rooms to go to and getting

to know other students in their Pastoral Care Group. Year 12 spent the day looking at how

your mindset influences success, good study habits, dealing with stress and listening to a

number of Year 12 students from 2014 speak about how they tackled the HSC. On Monday,

the rest of the Senior School spent period 1 getting organised and from period 2 all students

were in class and working.

It has been pleasing to see almost all students turn up in the correct uniform, however, there

are still a few who have misplaced their hats or need to purchase a new one. Our expectation

is that all students wear their hat when outdoors and I ask that a new hat is purchased if it

cannot be found.

Each student has been allocated with a diary to assist in their organisation. The diary is also

a means of communication between home and the College. I ask that diaries are checked and

signed weekly by parents.

Finally, a welcome to all the new families and students in the Senior School. We are very proud of our College and we hope that your son or daughter settles in well and makes the most of the opportunities that Trinity offers. With the opening of the new Trades Skills Centre and the start of construction on the Senior School building, these are exciting times at Trinity.

Learning is at the heart of everything we do. Whether this learning takes place in the

classrooms, when practising with an orchestra, rehearsing a production, building a model or

reflecting on a relationship there will always be learning. Our aim is to ensure that this

learning is enriching and challenging for each student and focusses on the important aspects

that underpin all good thinking. To this end the College is blessed with a very strong and

vibrant staff who will be wonderful guides and mentors.

At my first assembly I tried to emphasise the importance of resilience and empathy. As we

progress as learners we continue to strive to improve on these traits as this will inevitably

enhance our self-worth and our ability to face new challenges. There is always help and

guidance when required from people who are sharing the journey. Aim high with all you do

and respect the journey of others. As part of an exciting community at the College it is

important to recognise that we are all different and that we celebrate these differences. It is

a living community and how we interact with other members of the Community is at the

heart of the sense of belonging. I often hark back to readings when trying to explain this

sense. Theodore Roosevelt once said “No one cares how much you know, until they know

how much you care”. So, as we work together in community, it is important to recognise our

relationships and how we respond and react. How we celebrate achievements and bounce

back from disappointments. These are skills that can be learned and honed and improved

upon each day.

PIPS

A big thank you to the Kindergarten parents for their cooperation with this program. It is

important to gather information about students to ensure that we can create the

teaching/learning program that will best serve the needs of each student.

Parent Helpers

The College greatly values the help offered and proffered by Parents. The induction session

on Thursday was well attended and I thank all parents who were willing to give of their time

to enhance the educational offering.

Hot Weather

I am aware that this mild weather has been somewhat unusual. The recent forecast was for

much warmer weather over the next two weeks so and it is important to remind students

about the need for proper hydration (water) and coverings (hat). In order to keep the largest

energy drain on the body (the brain) ticking along, maintaining food intake during the day is

very important.

Student Leadership

The new student leaders were appointed last year and we all look forward to their

involvement in many areas around the College.

Kwaya

The Africans Children’s Choir will be visiting and performing at the College at the end of April.

This is an internationally renowned group who travel extensively to break down the

perceived barriers between different nations. The Choir is a select group of 18 students who

travel with 8 chaperones and 2 tour organisers. The College will be looking to billet all during

their visit which starts on the 24th of April and concludes with a concert on the night of the

Monday, 27 April. All students are Primary age. This is a very exciting opportunity for our

students and the wider community. More information about the workshops, concert and

billeting will be forwarded soon.

Some Dates for the Month Ahead

Wednesday, 11 March: Kindergarten Information Session. This will start in the Multi-

Purpose Hall and conclude in the individual classrooms.

Year 7 2015, has proved to be a cohort of energy, contemplation and curiosity. Their first day

in their new surroundings gave them an opportunity to explore, while tackling all of those

exciting Senior School requirements- timetable, lockers and subject specific rooms. Guided

by their Pastoral Care Tutors, the students were given much information and plenty of time

to get to know their tutors and each other.

The whole year level, the biggest Trinity has ever had, came together at the end of the day

for a scavenger hunt and a team building activity. The scavenger hunt tested their knowledge

of the College, but also their willingness to ask for help. What an amazing job they did! The

pieces of the puzzle were collected in record time! The team building activity, building a

tower out of newspaper, resulted in some spectacular, although not so stable, structures and

lots of laughter.

With such a great start, I am sure 2015 will be a great year for our Year 7 group.

Year 9 students begin the year with a focus on leadership, this involves them looking at admirable traits they see in others, along with looking at their own abilities in this area. With the upcoming Outward Bound experience from the 25-27 February, students will be provided with a very real opportunity to demonstrate leadership in this context, the experiences on Outward Bound from the basis of numerous aspects of the program for this term, where students are looking at the big question of identity-Who am I? And What are the attributes I have as a leader? As the year progresses I would like to be able to have some members of the College Community share their experiences with the students. If this is something that you are interested in doing please contact me at the College.

These well deserving students will be presented with their badge of office during the first Assembly on Thursday 12 February. Welcome to the Preps and Their Parents A very excited and eager group of Prep students began their schooling last Wednesday. The students were warmly welcomed by their teacher Mrs Lydia Billington and the Student Leadership Team. Prep parents also had an opportunity to get to know each other over a morning cuppa. Chapel Service and Assemblies Parents are very welcome to attend the Campus Chapel Service and Assemblies that are held week about throughout the term; Chapel Service Mondays A Weeks (Campus Hall, 10:05am) Assemblies Thursdays B Week (Campus Hall, 9:30am) Matheletics Online Matheletics is a web-based learning program that integrates home and school learning via the internet. All students from P-6 have access to Matheletics through the College network and via the home internet. The program is regularly used in your child’s classroom to reinforce learning and reasoning. I encourage parents to make the program available at home to your children to supplement the classroom learning. The students will be receiving their logon details shortly. Reading Eggs Online (P-2) Reading Eggs is an online support for each child learning to read. The program (phonetic based) presents individual, one-on-one lessons that allow children to progress at their own rate. All students from P-2 have access to Reading Eggs through the College network and via the home internet. I encourage the P-2 parents to make the program available at home to your child to supplement the classroom learning. The students will be receiving their logon details shortly.

My role as Careers Advisor is to discuss post-Trinity options and pathways, offer advice and suggestions and provide information and starting points for students to conduct their own individual research. Students are strongly encouraged to be proactive in managing their own choices for future pathways and supported in developing the skills required to do so.

Students and parents are able to access me during school hours – in class time by negotiation with their teacher, during study breaks, recess and lunch times and before or after school – all by appointment. This is mainly for students in Year 10, 11 and 12, but I can meet with students in Years 7-9 in consultation with their Pastoral Care Tutor. Students or parents are welcome to contact me by email any time and I will respond. I also email information regularly to students’ Trinity email accounts. My email address is [email protected].

Year 10 students participate in Careers lessons once a fortnight. These lessons provide an opportunity for students to individually research and investigate career pathways that may be of interest. During Term 1, they will participate in a program called Career Fast Tracks. The main aims of the program are to help inspire students to discover more about themselves and translate this into goals and actions and to prepare students for the process of subject selection for their HSC studies.

Trinity College has a website set up specifically for careers. This site should be the first point for students who are beginning to research possible pathways or choices for 2015. Basketball

The 2015 basketball season begins the week beginning Monday 9 February. Trinity this year

has entered 22 teams in all age groups and in both genders. By now all members should

have received a letter outlining the registration and game fee process. A reminder to all

The basketball draw will again be available through Sporting Pulse. I encourage families to

Netball

The Albury Indoor Netball Association (AINA) season begins on February 14th. All Junior

School players should have received an information note regarding the new season. Once

teams and numbers have been confirmed additional players may be required.

In 2015 the College Netball club has restructured its program to offer a greater range of

pathways, whilst still encouraging participation. While there will be no changes for our

Junior school program (except with the inclusion of the Net-Set-Go program for K/P to 2),

our Senior School students will begin squad training in March in preparation for their winter

competition which begins in Term 2.

Netball registration for our AINA teams will be held tomorrow, Saturday 7 February, 8 to

9:30am in the College office. To confirm your daughter’s position their registration must be

paid no later than this date. A reminder this season registration includes the compulsory

upfront game fees of $70 (instead of a weekly game fee). This $70 will also need to be paid

at the beginning of the winter season if your child wishes to play semester 2.

will be trialling against very strong and experienced competition. From past experience,

The first session for the College Swim Club in 2015 will be held on Monday 9 February from

6:45 until 7:45am. The Trinity College Swim Club is focused on fitness and stroke

development and opened to all College students who can swim 50 meters. This initial

session will be to assess the swimming abilities of all swimmers interested in joining our

The T-MAC (Trinity Multisport Adventure Club) will start up for 2015 on Thursday, 12

February (Week 3) at 7am in the Multi-Purpose Hall. T-MAC consists of a variety of sporting

activities based around running, bike riding and swimming and is suitable for students aged

from Year 3 and up.

In addition to the weekly training sessions the T-MAC group will also participate in specific

events throughout the year with our main focus being the annual Nail Can Hill fun run. For

more information please attend a meeting with Mr Thurling in Week 2.

The Science Department would like to welcome Mr William Muir to Trinity. Pictured below

are Year 10 conducting an experiment to extract DNA from strawberries. April prepares the

strawberry in the bag and the extracted DNA may be seen at the top of the test tubes

pictured right. Below, Mr Muir with students.

Year 9 also enjoyed constructing a ‘Buzz Wire’ kit with Ms Fleming – some of the new,

exciting equipment purchased for 2015.

Hairspray The Senior School production for 2015 is Hairspray. So it’s back to the 1960’s we go. Rehearsals have begun and all will be ready with a great show to take to the stage on Thursday April 30 and Friday 1 May 2015. HAIRSPRAY delighted audiences by sweeping them away to 1960's Baltimore, where the 50's are out - and change is in the air! Loveable plus-size heroine, Tracy Turnblad, has a passion for dancing, and wins a spot on the local TV dance program, "The Corny Collins Show." Overnight she finds herself transformed from outsider to teen celebrity. Can a larger-than-life adolescent manage to vanquish the program's reigning princess, integrate the television show, and find true love (singing and dancing all the while, of course!) without mussing her hair?

We are currently seeking lots of 1960’s inspired/styled clothing to start costuming the cast. Any donation of some clothes/shoes/props to assist with the production would be greatly appreciated. Please leave any items at the Front Office. Parents who are able to offer assistance in various aspects of the production are asked to contact Mr Glenn Mancer at the College to register your interest. Individual Music Lessons – Taught at the College during School hours If you choose, your child may consider having music lessons at the College. This is an arrangement between you and the music teacher with the College providing the facility for the lessons to take place. Please note that if your child does elect to attend music lessons during school hours that it is your responsibility to notify the music teacher of any absences, either caused by illness or by absence for school excursions or sport. Lunch and recess time slots are mostly allocated to senior students. Students who undertake lessons are strongly encouraged to be involved in the range of ensembles available. Information about these lessons is available from the Music Teachers or from the College Office. Music Ensembles Our ensembles for this year have commenced rehearsals. It is important that students make a commitment to these groups and attend all rehearsals. We are looking at some great opportunities for development and performance this year and look forward to showcasing the talents within these ensembles as the year progresses. This year a new Junior Stage Band is planned to be established.

On Tuesday 17 Feb we will have David Temby from The Music Place at the College to demonstrate and give students an opportunity to try out a range of Woodwind and Brass instruments. This is a great way to try out which of these instruments would be ideal to learn. This will take place during the day and conclude with a short information evening where parents can ask more questions about their child and learning an instrument.

Please see the College website for the Canteen menu. Sushi was very popular throughout the school last year and continues this Term. It is available on Wednesdays only. There are choices available on the menu that accommodate gluten free and other dietary needs. Please feel free to drop in to the Canteen if you have any concerns about the menu for your child. Volunteers are always needed and very welcome! Please leave your details at the front office or drop in to the Canteen if you would like to volunteer. Generally about 3 hours is all that’s needed, from school drop-off until the end of lunch. Even just once a Term is tremendously helpful – And children love to have Mum (or Dad or Nan etc.) helping in the Canteen!

Welcome back to school for 2015! Scholastics Book Club is off and running again. For those

new to school and/or this school, Scholastics Book Club is a way of fundraising for books and

references for the library and junior school. Catalogues are delivered to each and every

classroom in the junior school twice a term, which any parent, friend, relative or child can

order from. Those familiar to Book Club will notice that only one catalogue per issue will be

going home from now on.

Orders are not compulsory, but do need to be returned to the school (via classroom teacher)

by the due date so that all students can have their orders in and returned together.

Please make sure any order clearly has the student’s name and class – except if it is to be a

present or surprise. In this case, write your name and a contact number and I will call you

when the books have arrived and organise a collection point. I cannot order without a name

OR payment.

Scholastics Book Club have introduced a new payment system utilising an app – please note

that Trinity College has OPTED OUT of this system. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ensure that you

do not pay using the LOOP method. Only orders with payments of cash, cheque (made out

to SCHOLASTICS AUSTRALIA) or credit card (follow directions on the order form and record

the receipt number on the order form) are accepted and will be processed by me.

All orders will be returned via classroom teachers as soon as they are delivered to me.

For any concerns or queries you can contact me via the office. Extra copies of catalogues are

Each year NSW Health works in partnership with schools to offer the vaccines recommended by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) for adolescents as part of the school vaccination program.

In 2015 the following vaccines will be offered: Year 7 students

dTpa vaccine (Diphtheria, Tetanus & Pertussis (whooping cough)) as a single dose

Varicella vaccine (chickenpox) as a single dose; and Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine in a 3-dose schedule at 0, 2 and 6 months

(students who commence HPV vaccination in Year 7 but do not complete the course may be offered catch-up doses at school in Year 8)

Year 11-12 students

Measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine as a single dose as part of a catch-up vaccination program for students who are not fully protected.

The Parent Information Kits contain a consent form, information sheet and

privacy statement that details how personal information will be collected, stored and utilised.

Parent Information Kits will be sent home to parents/guardians. To consent to the vaccination of their child, parents/guardians are advised to:

A Record of Vaccination will be provided to each student vaccinated at each clinic. Parents/guardians should ensure that this record is kept for future reference and should not assume that their child has been vaccinated if they do not receive this Record of Vaccination.
