B IOGR APHIES ( i n a l p h a b e t i c a l o r d e r )

Ruth Arnell (Elizabeth) Ruth has been acting at Sunset Playhouse since 2004. Past Play-house roles include Brooke in NOISES

OFF!, The Girl in THE SEVEN YEAR ITCH, and Kate in BEDROOM FARCE. Other favorite performances include Meg in CRIMES OF THE HEART, Tracy Lord in THE PHILADELPHIA STORY, Maria in TWELFTH NIGHT, and any time she’s been able to get behind the mic with Radio WHT. (“Radio what?! Exactly!”) She hopes you have plenty of leg room and that you enjoy the show.

Beth Bland (Props Coordinator)Beth is in her third season with Sunset. She thinks part of the fun of working behind the scenes is creating the “world”

in which the actors move, whether it’s props, stage managing, costumes, lights and sound, or wielding a paintbrush. Volunteer in the extreme, Beth is also works backstage with the West Allis Players and Waukesha Civic Theatre, sits on the UW Platteville Distance Educa-tion Alumni Advisory Board, and lends a hand to the Friends of the West Allis Public Library for their book sales and writes for their newsletter.

Allison Chicorel (Tess)Allison’s favorite stage credits in-clude Kim MacAfee in BYE BYE BIRDIE, Marta in COMPANY, Ronnette in LITTLE

SHOP OF HORRORS, Lily St.Regis in ANNIE, Virginia in THE TAVERN, and Myrrhine in LYSISTRATA. Special thanks to Jim Farrell, cast and crew for a wonderful experience, as well as family, friends, and Maestro for their love and support. Allison will also be starring in Cinemartist Productions’ full-length

feature film, The Homecoming Queen, to be filmed this summer and released in 2013, as well as Sad and Broke’s production, The Wernic Score, also to be released in 2013.

Joanne Cunningham (Costume Coordinator)Joanne began “designing” clothes for her Barbie dolls many years ago,

using paper towels and aluminum foil. Fortunately for the actors, she has since discovered fabric. After designing two huge productions at Wisconsin Hills Middle School (PIRATES OF PENZANCE and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST), she joined the costume department at Sunset for DROWSY CHAPERONE and has not yet left the building.

Donna Daniels (Ouisa)Donna is very happy to be back at Sunset after appear-ing as Lucille in last season’s DEARLY DEPARTED. Donna

would like to thank Jim Farrell for the opportunity to play this wonderful role and she is thrilled to be part of such a talented cast and crew. Donna has ap-peared on stage with Sunset Playhouse, Waukesha Civic, Boulevard Ensemble, Racine Theatre Guild, Milwaukee Cham-ber Theatre and The Milwaukee Rep. Favorite roles include Lenny in CRIMES OF THE HEART, Rita in EDUCATING RITA and Hypatia in MISALLIANCE. Donna lives in Wauwatosa with husband Tom and their two beautiful daughters Gracie and Sophie.

J. Michael Desper (Resident Designer/Technical Director)J. Michael Desper has designed over 70 productions for Sunset Playhouse since the summer of

2001. Previously he freelanced in Chica-go for such companies as Circle Theatre of Forest Park, Pendulum Theatre, and Bowen Park Theatre and Opera. Before that, he earned his Master’s degree at San Diego State University and worked for the Tony Award-winning La Jolla Playhouse. Originally from Oklahoma, Michael earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma. In spring 2008, he briefly returned to edu-cational theatre with a stint as Guest Artist and Instructor for North Dakota State University. He would like to ex-tend an invitation to anyone interested in the technical aspects of theatre (and since you have read this far, there must be some interest) to give us a call at (262) 782-4431, ext. 235. We’re already working on the next show, so come be a part of what you see.

Joan End (Kitty)Joan is thrilled to perform at Sunset again and to work and play with such a talented cast and crew. “Thank you, Jim for the oppor-

tunity.” If you think you know Joan, you may be her 6th person…or you may have seen her perform with Pink Banana, Boulevard Theatre, Waukesha Civic, Cedarburg Players, Shorewood Players, or Milwaukee Irish Arts. Joan’s favorite role is still Lucille in THE CEMETARY CLUB. “Special thanks to my family and friends for coming once again!”

Jim Farrell (Director)Jim is happy to be making his Milwau-kee directing debut with SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION at Sunset Playhouse.

Jim is the former Artistic Director and co-founder of Main Street Players in Southern Illinois where he directed many productions including favorites LOBBY HERO and AGNES OF GOD. Originally from Long Island, Jim acted

professionally in New York for many years including three years (over 1,200 performances) as Inspector James Ascher in the Off Broadway hit PERFECT CRIME. He is also an award winning playwright and the author several full length plays including the autobio-graphical SUMMER GAMES (winner of the 1998 Festival of Emerging American Theater in Indianapolis); A KISS FOR THE PRIZE TOMATO; MONSTER ISLAND (winner of the 2000 Siena International Playwrights Competition); BLUE POINT OYSTERS and TRAILER PARK PROPHE-CIES. His one acts include SID VICIOUS DOES THE DISHES, presented at the Drop Your Shorts Festival in NYC star-ring Dallas Roberts, and later presented at the Samuel French Festival with Aaron Stanford in the title role; and STAR EYES AND LIFEGUARD produced in both New York and Chicago. In New York, Jim has served as the Develop-ment Director at Off Broadway’s Abingdon Theatre Company and The Pearl Theatre Company. Here in Mil-waukee, he has served as the Director of Foundation and Corporate Relations at Milwaukee Repertory Theatre and is currently the Development Director at the Skylight Music Theatre.

Kevin Gadzalinski (Huster/Ben)Kevin has been studying acting, voice, musical theatre, and theatre education regu-larly for the past

several years. This is his first involve-ment with Sunset Playhouse. Favorite past roles have included Provoloney in PSYCHO BEACH PARTY at Off the Wall Theatre, and Skimbleshanks in CATS. He is also currently a resident actor at Brumder Mansion where he performs in interactive murder mysteries such as SPEAKEASY OF MURDER. Kevin has just concluded a production of MISS SIAGON at Waukesha Civic.

Jared Kuehn (Woody) Jared is excited to be in his first Sun-set production! Re-cent credits include WEDDING SONG (Frank Missile),

LADY WINDERMERE’S FAN: THE MUSI-CAL (Mr. Dumby), LAUGHING STOCK (Richfield), HECUBA (Polymnestor), and ANYTHING GOES (Evelyn). Yet/ it makes me look buff.” -haiku, Anonymous.

Spencer Mather (Geoffrey)Does your neigh-bor have a cousin that travelled with a friend that dated someone who trained with

a coach that has a son in the theatre? If so, you may be 6 Degrees Separated from Spencer and not even know it! It is a pleasure to be a part of this challeng-ing and meaningful production that hopefully affords us all the opportunity to reflect on and appreciate every connection in our lives. Thanks to the amazing cast & crew and to all of you for supporting the arts!

Ryan H. Nelson (Doug)Ry-Guy (who played Royce in Sunset’s DEARLY DEPARTED last spring) is a Milwaukee native, founding member

of the Brumder Repertory Company/Milwaukee Entertainment Group, and part of such groups as The M.U.T.E.S., The Warped Cast, and R.G. Productions, plus various films, plays, and musicals at the Miramar, Racine Theatre Guild, Alchemist, Carte Blanche, and Wauke-sha Civic. He’s been a voice-actor with the V.A.A., Virtual Hollywood, R5 Central,

and Pendant, along with creating his own original projects. He’s a singer, cur-rently seeking a new band to rock with.

Alan Piotrowicz (Lighting Designer)Alan is excited to be back for his fourth show with Sunset Playhouse, following HAIR (Volunteer’s Choice

Award for Favorite Lighting), TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE, and GREATER TUNA. He is proud to have designed for several other fine companies in Wisconsin, including Falls Patio Players (resident designer), Four Seasons Theatre, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, Next Act Theatre, T.I.M.: The Improvised Musical, Uprooted Theatre, and Youngblood Theatre, among others. Alan received his BA from UW-Madison and studied as an electrics apprentice with the Santa Fe Opera. Much love to Eric. www.alanpiotrowicz.com

Nate Press (Rick)Nate is excited to be making his Sunset Playhouse debut. Nate is a native of the city of Milwaukee and a proud graduate of

the Milwaukee Public School system. He attended Riverside University High School on Milwaukee’s east side and then went on to study theatre at Bos-ton University on America’s east coast. Nate currently directs and occasionally performs in BYE BYE LIVER: THE MIL-WAUKEE DRINKING PLAY, which shows weekly on Saturday nights at 9:30pm in The Garage located inside Com-edy Sportz Milwaukee in downtown Milwaukee. Nate is also world famous (and you probably recognize him) as Frosty in the holiday hit sensation, WHO KILLED SANTA? Ask him nicely and he will probably do the voice for you.

Bryan Quinn (Trent)Bryan is pleased to return to the Sunset Playhouse stage. An optician by day, he has previously appeared at Sunset

in PRELUDE TO A KISS and LOVE SEX AND THE IRS. He studied theatre at Wisconsin Lutheran College and has continued work in local theaters, most recently directing the debut of an original work LOVERS AND THE LIKE at his alma mater.

Veronica Quirk (Stage Manager)Veronica is so happy to be a part of another production at the Sunset Playhouse. After her exhaustive

role as a stage managing/dresser in GREATER TUNA the beautiful pace and

flow of SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION has been a great experience. She would like to thank the wonderful cast and crew who make telling this story such a joy but is left wondering, where is Kevin Bacon?

Sherrick Robinson (Paul)Sherrick is elated to be back at Sunset Playhouse for SIX DEGREES OF SEPA-RATION. He was last seen in HAIR.

A graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan Uni-versity, he has also appeared in RENT, A RISING WIND: THE STORY OF THE LADY ELGIN, ALMOST MAINE and MAN OF LA MANCHA. He wants to thank everyone for coming to see this awesome story, and gives special thanks to Stephanie, Lynn, Heather, and Sloan.

Greg Ryan (Detective/Doorman)Greg is happy to be part of such a wonderful play as SIX DEGREES. Greg’s quite new to the

acting game having just begun this surprising trip two years ago. But in those two years, he’s been in a number of shows, most recently LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS where he played Audrey II (the plant, not the voice!). Happy to be out in the fresh air now.

Jim Santelle (Flan)Jim is delighted to be on the Sunset Playhouse stage again in the special parable that asks us to take inventory of how much of

our lives we can account for – and then gives us permission to leave empty the blank spaces in the canvases of our experience. Past credits include: DOUBT (Racine Theater Guild), THE GOAT OR WHO IS SYLVIA (Actor’s Theatre), A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE, THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, THE NARROW GATE and PLAYING DOCTOR (Sunset Playhouse). When he is not here dreaming of color, Jim is employed by a western government, doing much the same thing. “I just know when to take their drawings away from them!”

Jan Sczcpanski (Stage Manager)Jan has been an active volunteer at Sunset Playhouse since 1984 when she appeared in FIDDLER ON THE

ROOF. Although she has only appeared on the Sunset stage in 4 other shows since that time, she has worked in virtually every other aspect of the theater. She served six years as the Stage Management Chairperson and is currently the Co-Stage Management Chairperson with Jennifer Allen as

her Co-Chair. She served two terms as a member of the Board of Directors. She was Chairman of the Volunteer Committee and is currently the Co-Chairman of the Sunset Playhouse Volunteer Choice Awards. Jan is also proud to say that she is a recipient of the Rudy Award (Sunset’s equivalent of the Volunteer of the Year) and is a Life Member of Sunset Playhouse! Remember there is only “6 degrees of separation” between you and every-one else on earth – so who knows, you may meet a long lost relative if you become a Sunset Playhouse volunteer!

Antoinette Stikl (Stage Manager) Antoinette is excited to be a first time Stage Manager and work with such a talented and diverse cast. No

stranger to the stage, Antoinette was last since as Sister Mary Regina, Mother Superior in NUNSENSE here at Sunset Playhouse. Other credits include Su-zanne in DEARLY DEPARTED, Meg Boyd in DAMN YANKEES, (Sunset Playhouse), M’Lynn in STEEL MAGNOLIAS (Village Playhouse of Wauwatosa), Charlotte Hay in MOON OVER BUFFALO (Grant Park Players), among others. “Many thanks to my family and friends for their continuous support.”

Aria Thornton (Costume Designer)Aria is happy to be designing her first show with Sunset Playhouse. She has previously designed VIGIL,

BIG BOY, and PURGATORIA at Next Act Theatre and numerous productions for Divine Savior Holy Angel’s High School. Aria is the Wardrobe Manager at Next Act and has also worked at Milwaukee Shakespeare and Utah Shakespearean Festival. You can ‘Like’ Aria at www.facebook.com/designbyaria.

Kelly Tuner (Assistant Director)Kelly is delighted to be working on her first produc-tion at the Sunset Playhouse. She has recently worked at

Opera Tampa as Assistant Director for their production of LA TRAVIATA and as Stage Manager for BWYONE THE INGENUE at Skylight Music Theatre. She next goes to Virginia as the Assistant Stage Manager on CARMEN at Castle-ton Festival. Thanks to Jim Farrell for the wonderful journey this show has been. And yes, that lovely Dr. Fine (Mark Turner) is her adored husband. She couldn’t be prouder.

Mark Turner (Dr. Fine) This production is Mark’s first role on stage in 25 years since he went down the path marked tech. This path led

him to positions as Technical Director at San Francisco State University, Summer Repertory Theatre at Santa Rosa Junior College, and the Santa Fe Opera and eventually to the position of Director of Production at the Skylight Music Theatre. Thanks to Jim, Kelly and Sunset Playhouse for allowing him to take another look at his roots.

Glenn A. Villa (Larkin) Glenn is pleased to be returning to Sunset with this talented cast. Some of his previous roles at Sunset include Felix

in OSCAR AND FELIX, The Ambassador in THE AMOROUS AMBASSADOR, David in SOCIAL SECURITY and Greg in SYLVIA. You may have seen him perform with Waukesha Civic, Patio Players, Lake Country Players, Bay Players and West Allis Players. Glenn wants to thank his wonderful wife, Sandy, for her support, patience, and understanding.

Erica Ziino (Co-Props Mistress) Erica Ziino has been a volunteer at the Sunset Playhouse for approximately six years helping in

areas of House Managing/Ushering, Set Construction, and Props. She has been the Props Mistress for YOU CAN’T GET THERE FROM HERE, LOVE SEX AND THE IRS, ARSENIC AND OLD LACE, ANNIE and currently SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION. Erica has been told she is the “Kevin Bacon of Milwaukee”. With her social and philanthropic involvement, she does know A LOT of people, but side by side, he wins. Plus, HE IS CUTER!!!!!

UPCOMING SHOWS

Musical Mainstage: BROADWAY MELODYOur annual salute to the Great White Way will feature some memorable musical theatre moments as we cover composers from Bernstein to Webber. This Musical Mainstage performance will feature local professional singers Cynthia Cobb, Adam Estes, Joel Kopischke, Taryn Whipple and our Rising Star performer Erin Stapleton of Wauwatosa West High School. So grab your Broadway Baby and we’ll meet you in Times Square where show tunes rule! June 4-5, 2012

SWEET CHARITYYou can’t fault a girl for trying, but Charity Hope Valentine might be guilty of trying a little too hard. Charity is hoping to be loved so much that she can’t see the forest through the trees. She searches for the perfect guy, all the while singing, dancing, and dreaming with her girlfriends as a Times Square dance hall girl. This wonderful song and dance extravaganza includes show stoppers like Big Spender, If My Friends Could See Me Now, and There’s Gotta Be Something Better than This and is bound to fill the Furlan Auditorium with big time Broadway Pizzazz. July 12 – August 5, 2012

June 8 - 24, 2012

The mystery begins with a very busy body – or two! Office cleaner Mrs. Piper discovers a dead body, and calls the police. But before they can arrive, it moves. Or did it? Detective Superintendent Harry Baxter is tired, cranky, sick with a cold, and unhappy to hear about a missing corpse. But Mrs. Piper insists she

saw her boss’s body – until he walks into the room. With an office full of suspects, Mrs. Piper continues

to help (and hinder) the investigation, testing Harry’s patience while she outwits a murderer.

Presented through special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.
