GOVERNMENT

The United States is a

democracy. That means that we

choose our presidents. The

president changes every four

years, which is called a term.

Each president is only allowed

two terms.

GOVERNMENT

This is the White House located in

Washington, DC home of the US

President. There are 132 rooms, 35

bathrooms, and 6 floors. There is also

412 doors, 147 windows, 28 fireplaces, 8

staircases, and 3 elevators.

TECHNOLOGY

Albert Einstein was a very

famous scientist in the 1920’s, but

now Steve Jobs is equally as

famous. He owned a company

called Apple and is known

worldwide for his inventions:

Mac, iphone, ipad, ipod….and

more!

TECHNOLOGY

The United States created the

space shuttle to send people into

space. The first Space Shuttle that

could be used over again like an

airplane was called the Columbia. It

was first launched on April 12, 1981

at the Kennedy Space Center in

Florida.

RELIGION

The Pew Forum on Religion &

Public Life created this chart.

They interviewed 35,000 people

and found out that America has

many different religions.

SOCIAL STRUCTURE

Upper Class= Rich (Many Educated,

employed and maybe well paid)

Middle Class = Not rich and not

poor (Educated, employed and paid)

Poor (Educated, but may or may not

have a job or it may not be well paid)

WRITTEN LANGUAGE

In the United States we have a

written alphabet. Our alphabet has

twenty-six characters: 5

vowels, and 21 consonants. There

is two forms of writing: there is

script and block letters.

Children learn by going to

school. School starts at age 5 and

ends at age 18. There is grades

Kindergarten and 1-12. There are 3

divisions. There is Elementary

School(youngest children), Middle

School(Age 11-13), and High

School (Age 14-18).

STABLE FOOD SUPPLY

This picture shows that we have a

stable food supply because there is a lot

of food. We have farming, animals for

food and fishing. Food can be bought at

the farm or the supermarket. We have so

much food but I don’t know why so

many people in America go hungry

every day?
