Most of Asia’s major markets have been fairly active in the last quarter, although activities in Hong Kong has remained fairly slow. Beijing office and selective retail properties are still in demand. Shanghai has seen a number of transactions in most major sectors. There has been much activities in Thailand’s industrial sector, while progress in financial reform has boosted foreign direct investment in Vietnam. Japan’s Abenomics has boosted real estate activities and provided several foreign institutions the opportunity to exit the Tokyo property market, whereas Singapore continues to attract those seeking stable long-term returns.
