The Social Stitchers ofChilmark can not onlystitch but knit beautiful-

ly as well!The volunteers installed

free cakes, biscuits, tea andcoffee.

What a jolly band they are -knitting squares to be madeinto blankets, and vests for new

-zi Hospital maternity unit.

The blankets are given tonew mothers as an incentivefor them to return to the hospi-tal for post-natal attention, with-out which many babies andmums can die.

The day was such a hugesuccess that it inspired the So-cial Stitchers to arrange more
