ARMANDPLATO·DIRECTORThis production marks Mr. Plato's third musical with West ValleyLight Opera, his most recent being this season's highly successfulopener "CAROUSEL". His lone list of directorial credits, include"The Music Man", "Plaza Suite''!', "Wait Until Dark", "Owl and thePussycat", "We Have Alwavs Lived in the Castle", and "Marne" forthe Metropolitan Operetta Guild. He lives in San Jose with his wife,Jo, and' three children and is an Account Executive with KSJORadio.

WILLIAM RESCH· MUSICAL DIRECTORMr. Resch makes his debut as Musical Director with West ValleyLight Opera. An accomplished musician, he has been active in theBay Area music and theatrical circles, having performed in manyproductions including "South Pacific", "Company", "Fiddler Onthe Roof', "Sound of Music" and most recently "Hello Dolly" forSan Jose Music Theater. William has also had the distinction ofperforming with Woody Herman, Sophie Tucker, Wayne Newton,Frankie Lane and Barbara McNair. He is a graduate of San JoseState University with a Master's Degree in Composition and iscurrently. teaching music in the San Jose Unified School District.

,STELLA LOFF WOOD· CHORAL DIRECTORWe welcome Stell back to her second West Valley Light Operamusical. She was Choral Director for our production of "CAR·OUSEL" in which the choral work was outstanding. Prior tomoving to this area, Stell had acquired experience as concertpianist, newspaper music critic, director of church choirs andcommunity choruses. She was a public school music teacher andhas taught English and Drama through all grade levels, includingcollege. Stell has had her own weekly piano radio program and iscurrently teaching piano in Los Gatos.

BARBARA VALENTE· CHOREOGRAPHERBarbara returns to West Valley Light Opera for her fourth musicalas Choreographer, her most recent being "I DO! I DO!". Her otherchoreographical credits include "Carousel", "Fiddler On theRoof' and "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" for WVLOA, and "KissMe Kate" and "Of Thee I Sing" for Saratoga Drama Group. She isalso the choreographer for WVLO's performing group, "THEOVERTURES". Prior to moving to this area, Barbara was Directorand Choreographer of the Valente TV Dancers, performing onSacramento TV and at Lake Tahoe with George Liberace.

ROBERT A VISCOVICH . Margo"APPLAUSE"not only marks Roberta's debut with West VLight Opera, but it is her first musical comedy role. She is anexperienced actress with a long list of dramatic credits, includingperformances in "Plaza Suite", "Blythe Spirit", "Cat on a Hot TinRoof', "A Night With Cole Parter", "You Can't Take It WithYou", and "Norman, Is That You?" for which she won an award asthe best supporting actress. Roberta lives in Santa Clara with herhusband, Charles, and three children.

JEANNIE TRAINA - EveJeannie was seen earlier this season as Louise in WVLOA'sproduction of "CAROUSEL" and before that as a dancer in"Music Man". She also appeared locally as Susie in "Babes InArms", "South Pacific" and was understudy for the lead role inMetropolitan Operetta Guild's production of "Marne".

RICH AMES - BillThis is Rich's third appearance with WVLOA, having portrayed Sidin "Pajama Game" and the understudy for Professor Harold Hill in"The Music Man". He has also appeared in supporting roles in"Most Happy Fella", "Man of La Mancha" for San Jose MusicTheater and recently played the leading role of Brother Jonathanin their original musical "Vibrations". Rich studied voice atHumboldt State College and is currently enrolled in the GeorgeCosta School of Music and Acting. He is a stock broker with Firstof California in Los Gatos.

JOSEPH DIMARCO -DuaneEven though this is Joe's third appearance in a WVLOA pro-duction, this marks his first supporting role. In "Anything Goes"and "Music Man" he was one of the main dancers. Locally, he hasbeen seen in leading and supporting roles in "Annie Get YourGun", "Sound of Music" and "Li'l Abner". He was AssistantChoreographer for Metropolitan Operetta Guild's "Marne" and is amember of San Jose Music Theater's "The New Entertainers"

TOM HORTI -BuzzThis is Tom's eleventh musical with West Valley Opera, his mostrecent portrayal as Nish in "The Merry Widow", last season'shighly successful operetta. His other appearances include memor-able supporting roles in "Pajama Game", "Kismet", "AnythingGoes", "South Pacific", "Clear Day", "Gypsy", "Once Upon aMattress" and "Bells Are Ringing". Tom is a member of the WestValley Board of Directors and was co-producer for the successfulproductions of "Music Man" and "Carousel". He livesin San Josewith his wife, Hazel and works for Lockheed.

NORMA HUGHES - KarenWe welcome Norma back to WVLOA after several seasons'absence. Her last appearances with us were as Daisy Gamble in "Ona Clear Day" and Miss Cratchitt in "Gypsy". She has alsoperformed locally in such popular musicals as "Marne", "Okla-homa", "My Fair Lady", and San Jose Music Theater's "SweetCharity" , for which she won the best actress award. Most recentlyloal theater-goers saw her in Phoenix Production of "BlytheSpirit" and "Where's Charlie?". She is a graduate of DrakeUniversity in Des Moines, Iowa and her husband, Bob, works for3MBusiness Products.

S. JOHN SMITH - HowardRegular members of WVLOA will remember John's recent por-trayal of Baron Popoff in "The Merry Widow". He has alsoappeared as Prez in "Pajama Game", Ralph Rackstraw in "HMSPinafore" and the Padre in San Jose Music Theater's production of"Man of La Mancha". His long list of credits include performanceswith the Hollywood Bowl Opera Association and a number of lightopera groups in Southern California. John lives in San Jose with hiswife, Betty Lou, and is an employee of Lockheed.

PATRICIA CUTLER - Bonnie

At age 12 Patty tried out for a WVLO play and received aletter of rejection; to a 12 year old this indicated recognition,and she still has that letter. Since then Patty has been on stagein 20 productions.
