3.1 Pairing a headset or earphone - speech outputGenuine HoTT headsets are prepared as standard, so they can be paired with a HoTT Bluetooth® v2.1 + EDR module without further work. However, if you use a different Bluetooth® headset, this may fi rst be prepared using a Bluetooth® capable PC.

Ensure that the headset is switched off.• • Set your headset to pairing mode - read the operating instructions

supplied with your device for information on this.• Now select the ‘General Settings → BT Headset’ menu at the trans-

mitter.• Use the arrow buttons of the left or right-hand touch-key to se-

lect the “BT Headset” sub-menu, then briefl y press the SET button. Select ‘FIND’ using the arrow buttons of the left or right-hand touch-key.

• The system searches for wireless headsets within range, and dis-plays them. Use the arrow buttons of the left or right-hand touch-key to move to the “Name” sub-menu, and briefl y press the SET but-ton. You can now select the desired headset (in this case Headset 101) using the arrow buttons .

• You may need to move back to the “BT Headset” line and select A2DP or HSP transmission mode - the operating instructions sup-plied with your headset will tell you which transmission mode is sup-ported.

Note: if both are possible, you should always select A2DP, as this provides better audio quality.

• Now move to the “ID PAIR” sub-menu and briefl y press the SET but-ton. Use the arrow buttons to select ‘ON’: this action pairs the headset with the transmitter. If the pairing is successful, ‘ON’ changes to ‘OK’; if not, you will see the message ‘FAIL’. If this should happen, repeat the procedure.

• If you wish the headset to pair automatically when the transmitter is switched on, select ‘CALL’ under “ID PAIR”: the last headset which was paired successfully is now connected automatically.

• You can adjust the volume of the headset within the range 0 to 22 (default setting 8) in the “Volume” sub-menu.

• If you wish to separate the headset from the transmitter, carry out one of the following procedures:• Switch the headset off - the operating instructions supplied with your headset will tell you how to do

this.• Move to the “ID PAIR” sub-menu, and briefl y press the SET button. Select ‘OFF’ using the arrow

buttons , and the headset is now separated from the transmitter.• Take the headset about 10 m away from the transmitter.
