needS aSSeSSment As a result of participants’ evaluations and community physician annualneedsassessmentsurveys, therequirements forcontemporaryevaluationandmanagementofheartandvasculardiseasebytheprimarycarepractitionerhavebeenidentified.Thisevidence-basedlearningactivityhasbeendesignedtoalterphysicianperformanceinareas indicatedintheneedsassessments, includingselection of management for cardiac risk factors, including lipid disorders,hypertension,andstress;treatmentofcoronaryarterydisease,diabetesmellitus,arrhythmias,heartfailure,andvalvularheartdisease,aswellasappreciationoftheroleofnewerinterventionaltechniquesinthemanagementofthepatientwithcardiacdisease.

This year’s four-day conference will specifically address these identifiededucational needs and provide practitioners with state-of-the-art tools toprovideimprovedtreatmentoptionsfortheirpatients.Facultypresentingandinteractingwithparticipantsatthisactivityhavebeenselectedonthebasisoftheircomprehensiveclinicalexperience,academicexcellence,andpresentationskills.
