“ANYWAY PRAYER”

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of

selfish, ulterior motives; be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some false friends and true enemies; succeed anyway. If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; be honest and frank anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; build it anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; be happy anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; do good anyway. Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; give the world the best you’ve got anyway. You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; it was never between you and them

anyway.

Exhale Peace. [email protected]

ON GOING CRISIS

Two weeks ago, several parishioners and Father Gerry attended a listening session hosted by the Bishop to discuss the current sexual

abuse of minor children crisis. Among other things, the Bishop pledged transparency on this issue within the Diocese. He also asked that we publish the following statement in our bulletin: Bishop Knestout encourages anyone aware of sexual or

abuse of minors on the part of clergy or staff of our diocese to notify civil authorities; call the Attorney General’s

Clergy Abuse Hotline at 1 (833) 454-9064, and reach out to Jennifer Sloan @ 1 (877)-887-9603.

ANNUAL APPEAL We received a check for $352.50 last week as

our share of pledge payments made during the last quar-ter, to the Annual Appeal. It represents 50% of the dona-

ANGEL TREE November 18th, we will have our Angel Tree

decorated with stars. This project is part of the Justice & Peace Ministry of COV. For our new

parishioners these stars are children whose parent is an inmate in the Middlesex Regional Jail enrolled in a GED, anger management and/

or drug-alcohol abuse program trying to improve their circumstance. The star is a Wishlist. You can choose one, two or all

suggestions or even come up with your own age appropriate gift. You may also partner with a friend for the wish list. We have

been blessed to have our parishioners & their families support this project for many years. I invite you to adopt a star making

a child’s Christmas special. Any questions, contact Lynne Dreelin @776-0390.
