Had two interviews (one with front end & other with bakery after I mentioned coffee experience), which both went great. Know WFM core values and history of company, questions will be asked! Both interviews were very casual and relaxed, with plenty of laughs in between. A couple of days later I received another phone call regarding a "second" interview with the store TL. It was short and sweet about my schedule and flexibility (if I could close/open, our term for "close at 1030 then open at 5am the next day), etc. I don't know if all TL interviews are like that, but mine was! I think a couple days after that, I received a phone call from the ATL offering me the position and I have loved it ever since! Interview Question –Are you a circle or a square? I applied, applied, and I applied some more. I took the time to go into the store to introduce myself to every manager in the departments I had applied in. My first application was for a management position in the seafood department, although I had no management experience. I introduced myself to the manager he asked me a few questions, asked me to wait so he could look up my application, said he would look over it and give me a call, I re-checked my application online, and it stated the status of my application was "pursuing other candidates, but encouraged to apply for other jobs," So, I did, and I received an interview on a Saturday in the grocery department,

after my 30 minute interview of basic questions, "schedule restrictions, what does organic mean to you, etc." The interview was concluded with, "I have a lot of people to interview, if you do not hear from me in a week, feel free to give me a call to check the status, I am very busy and can sometimes forget." I did some shopping afterwards and took the time to touch base with more managers in departments I had applied; I also went to touch base with the Seafood Manager to thank him for his words of encouragement, even though he had not chosen to hire me. He wished me luck and told me to let him know how it goes, The following Thursday (the day before I had planned to call the grocery manager to check about the job) I received a call from the seafood manager, asking if I had heard back from anyone, and that if not, he had a position that just opened up and he would really like to have me in his department if someone else had not snatched me up yet. I was THRILLED! The Associate Manager was the one that did the interviewing and she just asked the basic retail questions. It seems that if you get an interview you'll more than likely get the job as long as you don't say anything that would jeopardize that. The manager actually spent more time talking about the company than actually asking questions. She also liked the fact that I was in college since many of the employees there were attending a college or university. They also do an oral drug test with you right away in the office after the interview. We went into the office and I was asked simple questions about myself, my work experience, and why I wanted to work for Kroger. I then was given time to ask questions, and then taken to the HR person to take my drug test. I was called a few days later when the results were in to schedule training and orientation. Wear something nice - Men: Collared button-down shirt (tucked in), slacks/khakis(no shorts) and belt (preferably one that matches shoe color), loafers or not-worn-out sneakers. No flip-flops or sandals. Women: Nice shirt with slacks or skirt. A dress is ok too, but make sure it is covered (if sleeveless) and an appropriate length(right above knee or longer).
