It’s been another fantastic week at Henry Chadwick! The children have been working really hard, and it’s been great to see them reading and sharing their home reading journals in school too. We have also achieved sporting success, reaching the finals of the area football tournament and performing superbly in the netball competition too; well done to you all and thank you for representing the school so well. Years 5 and 6 have enjoyed their visit to the Buddhist monastery in Kings Bromley, and I know they are really looking forward to Laches Wood next week – a true learning adventure! On a personal note, I continue to be amazed by our children. They are a real credit to you all, and I thank you again for your support as we help them to achieve the incredible things they so richly deserve. If your child wears earrings

at school could you please

send a small box (something

like a ring or bracelet charm

box would be ideal) to school

children can safely store

their earrings during the

lesson.

PFA FUNDRAISER—BAGS2SCHOOL

Are you thinking of having a clear out in your wardrobe to make way for new autumn

and winter clothes? – if so, please keep any unwanted items for the Bags2School

collection which is organised for Tuesday 18th October. It is a fundraising scheme

where the PFA get money based on the weight of the items that are donated. The

clothes are then sold to importers and wholesalers in many countries of Eastern

and Western Europe, Africa and Asia. This is an excellent opportunity to make

some space at home, help the environment by recycling unwanted items, whilst also

raising money for the school. Collection includes clothing, paired shoes, handbags,

hats, bags, scarves and ties, belts, lingerie and jewellery (no uniform which has the

school logo on please). Just bring your items into school on the 18th October. Thank

you ….

Collection Bags will be sent home with the children shortly—if you need a second

bag please just ask in the office.

SPORTING ACHIEVEMENT

On Saturday, 17th September 2016, the children of Henry Chadwick were

the subject of a fantastic sporting achievement. We played in a Netball and

a Football tournament at St. Joseph's Catholic Primary School. The Football

team, consisting of captain Laurence, Alfie, Syd, Devan, Billy, Sam and Loch,

played superbly only losing out at the Semi-Final stage in a tight game that

was decided on penalties.

The Netball team of captain Emily, Louise, Amy, Isobel and Alice stormed

through to the final after winning all three of the group games. In a tightly

contested final the girls only just lost out.

Overall, a fantastic achievement which both teams can build upon for

future events. Well done to everybody involved and a huge thank you to the

parents who came along to support the school.

Win tickets to the British Golf Masters and help raise money for

the school ….

This world class event runs from Wednesday 12th October to
