LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION: To be a sponsor for Baptism or Confirmation, individuals must fulfill the responsibilities and obligations Church law requires:

1) Have received the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and the Eucharist). 2) If married,

marriage must be recognized by the Catholic Church. 3) Attend Mass and receive communion regularly. 4) Be an active

parishioner for at least the past three months. An active parishioner is one who is enrolled on the parish census files and supports the Sunday offertory.

Dear Members: Our next Board Meeting is coming up Monday, April 23, at 7 pm, in the church meeting room. “Steak Dinner for Ten” campaign….your tickets and information will arrive soon. Our day Retreat at Villa is Sunday, May 6th - reservations have all been filled and no additional reservations can be taken. For those already registered, we will car pool - please contact a Board Member if you need a ride. We’ll depart our main parking lot about 8:15 am on May 6th. This Retreat is always a rich, meaningful day and wonderful experience. Cost is $25, payable by check to the “Felician Sisters”. Recitation of the Rosary begins in May, during the week at 7 pm in our church, with the exception of Wednesday evenings. Thank you!

On June 9, there will be a Mission Reunion for the Blessed Sacrament Mission Team starting with 4 pm Mass followed by a Pot Luck Dinner at the Parish Center. THE JOURNEY THAT PROMISES LIFE - FOR

RCIA, AND FOR ALL

This weeks article on the RCIA is the first in a series taken from a Newsletter published by "TEAMRCIA" which is led by Nick Wagner and his wife Diana Macalintal. Nick and Diana travel the world giving workshops on establishing successful RCIA programs in parishes. This newsletter was published after an "amazing month-long journey through much of Australia," from which they brought back meaningful insights into "a journey that promises life" as well as an excitement to share their moving experience. Much of what was shared in the Newsletter was taken from a talk given by Father Tony Chiera, the keynote speaker at a Christian Initiation gathering in Perth, Australia. Father Tony's theme was "Journey to the Source," in which he reminded the participants that Pope Francis tells us that we have a duty to proclaim Jesus to others and to draw them into this journey we are all on. "Catholics are often nervous when someone tells them they have a duty to evangelize. However, as Father Tony pointed out, 'the first way we evangelize is by the way we appear.' Pope Francis says we should appear as people who: "Share joy, point to the horizon and draw others to the banquet. What draws people to us is how we look on the road, and who we are becoming on the way." Father Tony went on to say that when a "seeker" is drawn to us, we seem almost surprised and not sure what to do. He said, ...... "the first thing we should do is kneel down!" Blessed Trinity offers Sacred Site and Sounds. On May 5 & 6,

Blessed Trinity Church will participate in the NY Landmarks

Conservancy's Annual Sacred Sites Open House Weekend with its

theme "Sacred Sounds and Settings." Experience the splendid acoustic

our house of worship provides, as well as its status as a repository or

faith, art, and history. On Saturday at 4 pm, choral music with organ

accompaniment will soar from the loft in a brief concert by the parish

choir prior to the 4:30 pm Mass. On Sunday at 2 pm, enjoy the

building's acoustical embrace in the a cappella choral offerings of the

St. John Paul II schola Cantorum, including seasonal selections and

Gregorian chant. Docents will be on hand both days (Saturday, May 5

from 2-4 pm and Sunday, May 6 from 12-2 pm) to explain the unique

features of this replica of the 12th century Lombard-Romanesque

architecture, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

From the Diary of St. Faustina Kowalska I often feel God’s presence after Holy Communion in a special and tangible way. I know God is in my heart. And the fact that I feel Him in my heart does not interfere with my duties. Even when I am dealing with very important matters which require attention, I do not lose the presence of God in my soul, and I am closely united with Him. With Him I go to work, with Him I go to recreation, with Him I suffer, with Him I rejoice; I live in Him and He in me. I am never alone, because He is my constant companion. He is present to me at every moment. Our intimacy is very close, through a union of blood and life. My Response: Jesus be my constant companion in every moment of my life.

This is the third legislative session that legalization of assisted suicide has been proposed in New York State. Come hear how would it affect you and your loved ones, and what you need to know. A third-generation Buffalo area physician, Dr. Bukowski is a board certified Internal Medicine specialist and has extensive primary care experience in office practice, nursing homes, and state prison. He is active in the Buffalo pro-life community. All are welcome to attend and be informed on this important issue.
