Location recceWhilst location scouting, I measured the suitabilityof the locations we visited toform a recce. This was an essential process for me as the camera operator formy responsibility included handlingand looking afterthe camera and lighting

equipment.

beside the master bedroom.7ood! The house is situated near a food cooperative, where we can

purchase food for our crew and cast members.8lectricity supply! * few sockets available along each wall of every room,

including the bedside table in the master bedroom, so we canuse additional lamps.

Sun light! Sunlight available from around !&% am.'ighting! Windows are located on one side of the kitchen, living room

and master bedroom, providing natural sunlight. (owever,additional light sources will need to be used.

$oise! 7airly quiet as the house is not situated on the main road.(owever, heavy winds can disrupt sound recordings.

Space! 'imited space in the kitchen, living room and masterbedroom. In order for the whole cast and crew, lightingequipment and camera to be on set, store the equipment notin use in theguest bedroom.

Props! We have permission from *ngela4s husband to use hiscosmetic products and colognes as props, in order to design3ichael4s bedroom.

9verall aesthetic! Warm looking, lu6urious and spacious house, which wouldserve to capture 3ichael4s isolation and sadness as he

occupies the house alone.Potential ha:ards! a. 9ur actor Tony has a scene, whereby he puts a sieve on

his head and runs round the table in the living room.The risk is there is a narrow space for him to do thisand he won4t be able to see where he is going clearly.

To minimise the risk of him in;uring himself, practicethese scenes with 3ichael without the sieve on hishead, also clear any items that may be in his way.

b. +ables and wires can be tripped over. To minimise thisrisk make everyone on set aware of where these cablesare to prevent them from in;uring themselves ordamaging equipment.

which is a reoccurring motif throughout the )lm, but thislocation shows how 3ichael is )nally acting to ful)l hisdreams.

Potential ha:ards It may be slippery due to poor weather conditions, so wearwalking shoes with a )rm grip.
