There is much to be grateful for and much to build upon.Ravi Zacharias’s passion for evangelism included a visionfor the future. He left a lasting legacy in the strong teamhe developed, trained, and mentored—the next generationof Christian evangelists. Today, nearly 100 gifted andcalled evangelist/apologists serve on our team, all withthe RZIM DNA of evangelism undergirded by apologeticsand careful answers for the questioner behind the question. Ravi’s passion for the gospel was palatable,and his teachings are timeless. Ravi not only “grew ateam” but also laid a foundation for future evangelists to address both the thinker and believer.

Ravi Zacharias spoke to 7,000 students atthe University of Miami in February. Thatopen forum would be the last major eventwhere he would bring the gospel message.

A Strategic PlanPart of the RZIM strategicplan laid out last year wasto expand our alreadystrong digital capacity.We were well equippedto pivot almost immedi-ately to bring our eventsonline, and we creatednew initiatives to meetpeople where theywere–in front of a phoneor computer screen.

UNIVERSITY MISSIONS/OPEN FORUMSA cornerstone of RZIM’s ministry is on college anduniversity campuses around the world. The RZIMteam in the UK successfully held four universitymissions in Norwich, Plymouth/Leicester, Canford, and Hereford. In North America, missionswere held at Georgia Tech, University of Florida, University of Saskatchewan, McGill University,and the University of British Columbia.

YOUTH INITIATIVES

RZIM is reaching thousands of young people through our strategic youth ministry efforts.REBOOT meets in major cities across the globe to provide aplace for young people, with or without any faith or churchbackground, to raise their objections and investigate differentperspectives on life’s big questions. Since 2013, we have hosted36 REBOOTs in 25 cities and across 6 continents.

Due to restrictions caused by COVID-19, our plans to host 13REBOOT conferences in 2020 were hindered. Thankfully, in many instances, we were able to pivot to an online space to navigate these new challenges. The RZIM team in Canadahosted a 13-week digital series. Over 1,000 young people fromall over Canada and the world tuned in, submitting hundreds of questions to our speakers. RZIM in Latin America hosted afour-day late summer REBOOT with 1,300 registered studentsin Peru, Colombia, and Ecuador.

ReFresh: Ready for College? meets annually at the ZachariasInstitute and equips high school upperclassmen and women and rising college students to confidently live out their faith oncampus, giving them the space and tools to think through someof the toughest challenges to Christianity. ReFresh 2020 washeld entirely online with 3,289 students from all over the worldregistered. Students were engaged throughout the weeklongevent asking questions through RZIM Connect. Conversationscontinued long after the end of the event.

FESTIVAL OF THOUGHTFestival of Thought is an outreach held in cities aroundthe world in businesses, churches, and universities. Pastevents were held in businesses such as Google, Microsoft,and Standard Chartered Bank in London (2015), andcities Chicago (2016), Cape Town (2018), Singapore(2019), and Zurich (2019). The next Festival of Thoughtis slated for San Francisco in April 2021.

STILL POINTStill Point is an initiative within the headquarters of RZIM supporting local and internationalartists and offering high quality encounters with the arts to the community. This past year, wewere honored to host two excellent exhibitions: Unseen Beauty, Unheard Voices, UnnoticedWisdom, a collaborative exhibit that aims to explore the deep, rich, and often complex souls ofwomen. The second exhibit, Body of Evidence, featured Karen Swenholt, a figurative sculptor,and Harry Ally, who is recognized as one of the South’s finest figurative painters.
