Since I am fortunate enough to have a father who has always supported my desire to go to college,

receiving this scholarship means to me that I can help him out with the burden of my tuition. It has given me

the confi dence and self-effi cacy to apply for other scholarships/fellowships so I can pursue my ambitions.

This year in college, I am looking forward to taking more courses related to my Food Systems minor, since

UVM is one of the only colleges in the U.S. that off ers it. I am also excited to explore classes in other departments

and to continue being involved in a lot of clubs.

This summer I was fortunate to work as an unpaid intern in the offi ce of my state senator. Due to my

positive experience, I have recently declared a minor concentration of study in Political Science to compliment my future Marketing degree. Had I not

participated in the internship, I may not have decided to undertake the minor degree. I plan to pursue another

internship next summer. This scholarship will give me the fl exibility to look for an opportunity that may be unpaid but could off er me invaluable work experience to

help me defi ne my future career path. Thank you again for awarding me this scholarship. I literally

have grown up in the wine & spirits industry where my father has worked in sales distribution since before I was

born. As a recipient of this scholarship, it makes me happy to share the honor with my father as well.

like me who are passionate about the environment and wildlife. I am also excited about attending my fi rst SEC

This scholarship will help me pay for my books and other fees throughout the year. I am a daughter of a single mother who is in college as well, so it is very diffi cult for her to assist me with my college bills. I truly would not want her to make the sacrifi ce of

having to drop out of college when she is so close to receiving her bachelor’s degree. I really look forward to expanding my knowledge and making many new memories. I truly cannot wait to participate in many

community service projects and internships. I am also excited about making new discoveries with my SEA-

This scholarship will help me in so many ways. This scholarship will help me pay for a huge part of my

tuition and all of my books for the semester. I will also be able to use part of the money from this scholarship

to pay for my room and board. This scholarship will help me continue my education and continue pursuing my degree in Bio/Chemistry Pre-Pharmacy. The main thing I look forward to in college is living on campus.

I am so excited to meet new people and to participate in events all over campus. I want to be able to fully

experience life in college. Also, I am excited for my classes but specifi cally my chemistry class because that is my

major and I really enjoy that subject and all of the labs that come with it.

This scholarship helps my family and I greatly, as college can be pricey, and as I mentioned in my

application, having a chronic lung disease makes paying for college even the more stressful, as my

medications cost a fair amount as well. That is why this scholarship will help greatly in paying for college.

The WSWA College Scholarship will be a much appreciated help to my family in easing the fi nancial

burden of college. My school off ers numerous opportunities but many come at an additional expense.

I will greatly benefi t from this fi nancial support by being able to take full advantage of these possibilities. This year, I hope to get involved in Greek life and study abroad. I feel that both of these activities will greatly

enrich my college experience. I am so grateful to have been awarded this scholarship so that I may partake in

those ventures.
