Congress, meeting and event sector (MICE)s biggest international gathering ACE of M.I.C.E. Exhibition opened its doors for the third time this year. 339 companies from 24 countries attended to the exhibition this year and thousands of visitors filled exhibition area. Various seminars and panels were held at the exhibition and national and international famous names met with the attendees.

ACE of M.I.C.E. Exhibition is organized by the Tourism Media Group gathers national and international MICE professionals under the same roof. ACE of M.I.C.E. Exhibition is known as the leader organization of meeting, congress and event sector. Many event planners and congress organizers from 24 countries including Spain, Azerbaijan, Austria and Greece attended at AME 2016.Deputy Governor smail Gltekin, Culture and Tourism Minister Promotional Vice General Manager Ramazan okevik, Istanbul Culture and Tourism Manager Nedret Apaydn, TRSAB President Baaran Ulusoy and Turkey Tourism Investors Association Murat Ersoy attended the opening ceremony.Tourism Media Group President Volkan Ataman gave the opening speech of the meeting and mentioned that MICE industry, which has a very important market share in the world economy, continues to grow in Turkey every year and said: Since 2007, we have been creating the infrastructure of this exhibition and we organized the second ACE of M.I.C.E. Exhibition last year. We believe weve received a lot of attention from both Turkey and the world. ACE of M.I.C.E. Exhibition is one of the biggest gatherings of the global MICE industry and is more powerful and equipped this year. In our first year 169 and in our second year we had 269 attendees in our exhibition and this year there are 339 attendees from 24 countries, this means a %18 growth. TRSAB President Baaran Ulusoy also spoke at the ceremony and said: Terror which removes the international travel freedom is not only against Turkey, it is against humanity. We need moral as sector and banks need to be very understanding because we need government support at MICE. When hotel reservations are full congress rooms must not stay empty. Turkey Tourism Investors Association President Murat Ersoy also gave a speech and said: Turkey developed a lot with its tourism investments in the last 10 years. When we look at last years data, we see that in 2011 and 2012, Turkey is in the first place with more than 500 attendees. In 2013, this number became 146 organizations and 8th place, in 2014, 130 organizations and 9th place. Main reason for that wasnt Turkey not having a good organization infrastructure. It was Turkey not being able to fulfill the desires of the increase in the same level as before. During the exhibition, there were seminars and panels on; marketing communication, MICE sector stories, Women of MICEs stories and success stories of brands in events. Exhibition area gained a very different ambiance with colorful stands and thousands of MICE professionals met with almost 750 national and international Hosted Buyers.Companies held happy hours at their stands at the end of the day. Thousands of people attended to the ACE of M.I.C.E. Exhibition AMEzing Network Party at the opening night of the exhibition which was held in Feriye Restaurant.

Foreign hosted buyers, speakers and group coordinators said that they loved Istanbul and would love to come back. They enjoyed the tasteful food on the boat and relieved stress before exhibition. 200 international Hosted Buyers from 39 countries, 400 corporate national companies, 150 Visitor Hosted Buyers, 750 HB in total were hosted during AME 2016. Incentive companies, professional congress and sports organizers, event companies, DMCs, business and conference travel agencies, event organizer full-service PRs and advertisement agencies booked their interviews before the exhibition via online appointment system. Company representatives provided presentations fruitfully. Hosted buyers which came from all around the world created strong business bonds with the Turkey MICE sector companies.

WOMEN OF MICE Women of MICE panel hosted women of corporate companies, MICE sector and business life with the sponsorship of Istanbul Akvaryum. The panel focused on womens perspective to the sector, problems they have, solutions of them and event success stories.The session sponsor Istanbul Akvaryums Executive Committee Member Dilek apanolu said: As Women of MICE session sponsor, we believe that we created a wonderful session with our valuable panelists. National and international hosted buyers and attendees went to the exciting ambiance of AMEzing Network Party after business interviews. Tourism Media Group President Volkan Ataman hosted the night and famous names of the sector attended the night. Many people from business and art world attended the night and entertained with the dance shows and DJ performances. Boats were at Feriye Restaurants coast all night and hosted the guests. Congress, meeting and event (MICE) sectors most prestigious awards, ACE of M.I.C.E. Congress, Meet-ing and Event Awards, were given in 4 main (Events, Meeting Support Companies and Project Applications, Meeting Hotels and Event Venues, Meeting Management Companies) topics and in 31 categories. In total, 74 jury members reviewed the presentations of finalists at Jan-uary 15th at Swissotel the Bosphorus Istanbul and they decided the winners. The award night which was held at Zorlu Performing Arts Center, which is the venue sponsor of the awards received a lot of names from business and art sector. The guests created a lot of colorful pictures and in the beginning of the night. Before the award cere-mony, there were a lot of food and beverages of different

Right now, Turkish market is expanding a lot for us because since May 4, Turkish Airlines has a direct flight from Istanbul to Panama. So, now Turkey is a nice market to go into. We have a lot of conventions and incentives from Turkey in Panama, and thats why most of our DMCs that are here are expecting to grow their targets in Turkey.

We dont have a lot of Turkish clients but were looking forward to meet more Turkish and international hosted buyers and exhibitors at AME 2016.

We have very good connections with Europe and all around the world. Vienna is very green, compact and safe. It is also easily accessible. I like this exhibition very much, we have a lot of business meetings here. I hope that the relationship between the Turkish market and Vienna will be even better soon.

We are an organ-ization which is based in Bursa and I dont believe we are getting enough share from MICE sector. However, cities like Istanbul and Ankara are very good in the world rankings.
