Emmanuel Newsletter January • February • March 2015 Greetings Emmanuel, This January we will begin our 34th year of ministry here at Emmanuel. I can say without reservation that I am as excited as I’ve ever been. I truly believe God has even greater things for us as we go forward. If Jesus returns first, then what could be better than that. As I grow older and hopefully wiser (not necessarily more mature. Ha Ha) I value the depth, but yet simplicity of what my Father taught year after year. Since he served here for over 50 years we heard it a lot. Dad would say, “God is concerned with two kinds of people, lost people and hurting people. And as long as we are concerned about the things that God is concerned about He will bless our efforts. God’s work done God’s way will never lack God’s supply.” I really believe that is exactly why God continues to bless Emmanuel. It gives us great joy and peace to know that we are living and serving Him and not ourselves. The Scripture clearly says, “Where there is no vision the people perish.” We are committed to keeping our vision alive and even enlarging our vision (Ephesians 3:20). As for our family; 41 years of marriage for Archie and me. Our sons and their families are walking with the Lord. Jared and Nicole continue living and teaching high school in Baltimore. They are great parents to Kaitlynne (9), and Brayden (6) who are very active in church, school and sports. We Skype with them which is great when it’s hard to get together as often as we’d like. Shane and Janelle are doing well. They have four kids; Tyler (14), Isaiah (9), Liam (8), and Ruby (6), and about 10 times that many animals. We get to see them often and have them for sleepovers. We love being grandparents. Shane continues to counsel and minister at Peniel. He is doing a great job. Janelle homeschools and tends to the animals (with the kids helping willingly?). Emmanuel Main and Emmanuel West continue to shine bright in our community and around the world. Thank you for your part and thank you for allowing us to serve Him and you. Have a Blessed Christmas as well as a Blessed 2015. God is Good......... P.Ray and Archie

Greetings Emmanuel, This January we will begin our 34th year of ministry here at Emmanuel. I can say without reservation that I am as excited as I’ve ever been. Dear Friend, Greetings to you in the name of our blessed Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ! It’s hard to believe that it’s that time of year where we write our annual Christmas letter. So much has happened in 2014 and it’s impossible to sum it up in one letter. In January, we faced the difficult task of saying goodbye to the folks at the main campus. We had the incredible privilege of serv-ing there for 15 years. God blessed us with wonderful friendships that we will always treasure. We began full time ministry at Emmanuel West on January 6. The church was planted on October 7, 2012. The Lord did far more than we anticipated (Ephesians 3:20). It became increasingly clear that He wanted us in the West Hills on a full time basis. The door opened for us to move from the Westwood Theatre to the Westmont Church of the Brethren. That move occurred on August 31. We were once again amazed at God’s goodness to us. Our attendance has exploded and we are now able to offer a nursery, children’s ministry, and youth ministry. Our son-in-law, Jeremy Ferguson, came on board as our full time worship leader in August. The Lord has used him in a wonderful way to create a very vibrant weekly time of praise. In July, we were hit with the unwelcome news that Sandy had breast cancer. We are grateful she completed her radiation treatments and has an excellent prognosis. Things did not settle down as God impressed on us the wisdom in moving to the West Hills to be closer to the folks we serve. The move was completed in November. As we were moving, we received great news that Mallory and Jeremy were expecting a child. That in itself is a miracle. Please pray for the pregnancy and the baby. We thank God for your friendship and pray He blesses you as you serve Him in 2015.

In His Love, Dave & Sandy
