“The CFO as Digital Change Agent”

CFOs have always been the stewards of corporate value, but are now being tasked with a new role: driving digitally-enabled business models that leverage intangible assets — customer and talent networks, intellectual property, and the wisdom of crowds -- to co-create new products and services. But how can business leaders harness data insights from these new business models in a meaningful way with real metrics that will drive high performance? In this exclusive fireside chat session, Oracle Vice Chairman Jeff Henley and Commune Hotels CFO Steven Miano will draw upon real-life examples of how leveraging cloud-based financial and performance management applications will help CFOs and their line of business partners to create new, technology-driven business models that will empower their organizations to thrive in today’s fast-paced global economy.

Thought Leadership Spotlight Presented by Host Analytics

“Uniting Financial and Operational Planning for Alignment and Agility”

While Finance teams typically track annual, quarterly, and sometimes monthly plans, most operational functions are revising departmental plans on a weekly basis. Your marketing department may be seeing softness or surges in new leads that could accelerate next quarter’s results. Your Sales team may be expecting a few sales reps to significantly outperform and generate an outsized commission expense. But in many cases, none of these frequent, operational business changes are reflected in the corporate plan or integrated with the finance team’s view of the business. Departmental “Ops” staff grind away in spreadsheets, disconnected from finance, and actionable issues often don’t surface until after quarterly close. Learn how organizations like yours are tying operational planning processes back to the office of finance to drive better organizational alignment and achieve greater agility to succeed in dynamic markets.

Thought Leadership Spotlight Presented by SAP

“Simplifying finance in an increasingly complex world”

Finance transformation has been a hot topic for the last couple of years. Finance organizations are well aware that the time for transformation is NOW. Market complexity and volatility, the need to create greater business value, and ever present cost and compliance pressures are driving finance executives to change. Innovation in technology – Big Data, Cloud, and the mobile, collaborative work style of the Millennial workforce, the rise of business networks (or implications of the networked economy) to name a few – demand a fast re-thinking of what constitutes a successful finance business model.

In his address, Thack Brown will share SAP’s vision of building the modern finance department. Thack will look at the challenges and opportunities CFOs face today – and how SAP Simple Finance offers the agility and capabilities needed to address them. Thack’s session is a must for finance leaders looking for a simplified way to do business.

the problem: paying More to get Less

U.S. enterprises spend the most to give their people the least. More than $620 billion is spent every year on enterprise healthcare – it’s a top-three business cost and it increases by 8 to 10 percent every year. Despite this massive spend, America ranks 46th in the world in healthcare outcomes. That’s because our healthcare system is a merit-free market that is void of transparency and accountability.

As a result, healthcare providers can’t compete based on their expertise or merits; businesses can’t provide employees with world-class benefits; employees can’t understand the choices they have, what they are paying for, and the outcomes they should expect. It’s time for business leaders to cure enterprise healthcare – because enterprise healthcare is not going to fix itself.

the Solution: the enterprise Healthcare Cloud In all other areas of business, technology has enabled leaders to transform the most critical parts of their businesses – from supply chain management to human resources, finance, sales, and marketing. Yesterday’s static approach to managing healthcare is forever changed with the Enterprise Healthcare Cloud. Castlight’s solution is rooted in big data and provides business leaders with the insights needed to pinpoint opportunities to eliminate wasteful healthcare spend and poor quality outcomes. Employers can use these insights, along with a comprehensive set of management controls, to design, optimize, and scale benefits with unprecedented power and precision – increasing the effectiveness of benefit programs and making the most of healthcare investments. The Castlight Enterprise Healthcare Cloud enables employers to provide world-class healthcare for their people by allowing them to manage healthcare as they do the other investments in their business and it empowers employees with the information they need to make better healthcare decisions for themselves and their families.
