Presentation about the case cart model that is currently in implementation at the Montreal's Jewish general hospital. The case carts are the custom settings of instruments and supplies needed for surgical interventions. These cases are prepared in specialized sterile zones separated from the operating room, which requires a flexible and fast logistic setup. This presentation explains in a simple way how this set up is been doing at the JGH and what steps are missing.

• Case carts allow teams to focus on CORE BUSINESS: – CSD staff will prepare PRODUCTS so that the OR staff can
focus on PATIENT CARE.
• Case Carts will be prepared in CSD, as per the Kardex.
• Some critical items will be stored in the Sterile Core (OR).
• Consignment items will be stored in the Sterile Core (OR).
– A final step in the Sterile Core will be only be necessary if the intervention requires critical or consignment items.
