Keith Walpole, owner of Walpole Trucking, Inc., was very generous in making the vendor area a success, along with Jim McLeod of McLeod Land Services. We opened the vendor area Saturday and handed out more than 300 KTM bags. Thank you Todd Sandoval from Palmetto Motorsports for getting the bags and the companies for donating items for the bags: Lake Eye Center – Dr. Scot Holman, Bio-Freeze, Daytona Lagoon, Ghirardelli Candy – Angie Cole, Risk Racing, The Progressive Corporation.

Vendor area

We had several clubs, Nature Coast, SADRA and Treasure Coast, step up

and help with the kid’s activity area by providing two portable basketball hoops

and several basketballs that were raffled off. This kept the kids busy and entertained.

FTR Scholarship Awards

Bob and Shannon Parks both bought $30 worth of tickets at the banquet. "I actually didn't get to hear his name called because I went out to

get a drink right after winning my beautiful quilt," Shannon said. "I figured our winning was over! When any of us state that 'we' won the bike,

he is quick to correct us and remind us that it was HIS name called. He is learning to share though and has let Jackson and Bee ride it."

The Parks family won the KTM bicycle!Thank you, Imperium Bicycles, for helping to support this year's awards banquet with the KTM Ultra Fun 26 Bicycle.

The KTM bicycle raffle raised $1,800 to benefit the FTR

Scholarship Fund. The total raised for 2014 was $9,287.36.

Ian Finnerty, pictured with parents Cristie and Keith, won a $2,321.84 FTR Scholarship..

Danielle Hennessy-Wack was awarded a $2,321.84!"I'm so grateful that FTR provides this opportunity for it's members who are attending college. Tuition is very expensive, and this scholarship makes it possible for students to go to the school of their choice. I am a student at the honors college of Florida Atlantic University and I am majoring in biology. I am so happy to be a part of FTR. I've made great friends over the years and I've had so much fun racing. I hope to continue to race while in college."

Trevor McCabe received the highest honor of a $4,643.68 FTR Scholarship."Winning the FTR Scholarship to me means that I will have more freedom to pursue my interests in college, and also is great because an organization I havebeen a part of for such a large portion of my life is is helping me make the most of the rest of my life. I plan on pursing a dual major in Biology and Spanish while on the Pre-Med track.

"All my life my parents told me I could go on to something great and I always thought, 'Ya, you're supposed to say that,' but since I've been in the FTR family, I've been under nothing but constant support and

wisdom. Receiving the scholarship this year only reinforced the idea that someone thinks I'm capable to go and do something wiht my life, which

means the world to me." Ian plans on studying finance/accounting and said he "can't wait to start giving back to FTR ASAP!"

NomiNatioN letter: I nominate this person because every time I see her she is asking what can I do for you to whoever she sees might be in need. No matter what class, what age, bike or quad, there are no limits or boundaries to her love for the riders and sport of FTR.

She stands on the sides cheering on every age group. She takes photos. She holds bikes. She gets water. She picks you up. Always willing to help. Always encouraging. She doesn't even need to know you and she is there for you. You need it she is there without you even asking. Always happy. Always calling everyone her youngin's. She is always looking out for everyone. Will pitch in at any race if you need her to. I do not think this person knows the word no. You need something done she is the go to

person.

She also is the mom to a grown racer and wife of a racer. She is very passionate about FTR and the FTR family and does whatever she needs to do to promote, protect and provide for the FTR.

For all these reasons I nominate Kim Mousette as the first ever Pit Mom of the Year. - Dorothy Dekmar

Sportsman of the YearFTR President Ford Snodgrass presented Dave

Nagle with the Sportsman of the Year award.

Pit Mom of the Year Kim Mousette was awarded the inaugural Pit Mom of the Year in honor of her dedication to FTR and its members.

"I am still is a state of shock over being the first Pit Mom ever. So

honored but I know that there were so many good

moms who deserved it. I am there because I love the sport and all of my race youngin's," Kim

wrote.

NomiNatioN letter: Dave Nagle is a prime example of a true sportsman. Dave donates much of his time and resources to our club Central Florida Trail Riders and FTR as a whole. Every time I ride with Dave or go to an event where he is racing, he provides a prime example of sportsmanship each time. Last season at many Hare Scrambles, I observed Dave offering riding advice and trackside help to our youth. He would go out of his way to ask the children in our club how they like the track or if there was anything they struggled with on the course. He simply feels the need to further our sport by helping the younger riders and anybody

new to FTR. I witnessed many times where he pointed people who were new to the Hare Scrambles to the sign up area, starting line, tech, etc. Dave is by far the most helpful and compassionate person I have met in FTR. For our CFTR Hare Scrambles this past season, Dave donated the use of his own heavy equipment to help with maintenance on our course. The cost to haul his equipment for 1.5 hours to our property and fill his equipment with diesel for the day was easily a couple hundred dollars. We (CFTR) tried to reimburse him for this cost after our event and he respectfully declined stating, "Take that money and donate it to the FTR

scholarship fund on CFTR's behalf." This year at the Richloam Enduro, Dave cooked the food for our whole club for four days and donated the use of his pickup truck to assist the sweep team in getting disabled bikes out of the woods. On the track, Dave always lets faster riders go past and never holds up traffic. I have also seen him handle poor sportsmanship from other riders in his class many occasions this season. Dave has never gotten angry or upset when I have asked him about it after the race. He just loves to ride and he knows his results will work out however it is meant to be. - Paul Cox

"I urge all FTR members to join a club, get involved,

understand what it takes to put on a successful

event, while all the time praying for good weather and conditions," Dave, a

14-year FTR and CFTR club member, said.
