Since 1994, InterfaceFLOR’s revolutionary reclamation and recycling program, ReEntry® 2.0, has kept more than 220 million pounds of carpet out of the landfill. With ReEntry 2.0, we can reclaim nearly any carpet type, even that worn out broadloom in the coatroom. We are able to cleanly separate the nylon face

At InterfaceFLOR, we use Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to evaluate the impact of our products from raw material extraction to end of life recycling. This valuable tool evaluates the full life cycle by looking at all kinds of environmental impacts, from global warming to acid rain.

We’ve taken our LCAs a step further; they’re the foundation of our Environmental Product Declarations, or EPDs, for our Convert products. We became the first North American carpet manufacturer to earn this verification, which requires unprecedented levels of transparency and disclosure. And we’re not stopping there; by 2012 we aim to have an EPD for all InterfaceFLOR products globally.

MR 1.8 = high quality fiberInterfaceFLOR’s carpet tiles are made with fiber that uses an optimized modification ratio of around 1.8, compared to a ratio of 2.5 for many competitive products. A lower modification ratio means that a fiber is more “round” and thus has less surface area, which reduces the amount of soil and dirt that gets trapped between fibers. Plus, the fiber’s concave shape makes it a particularly strong and long-lasting fiber that can stand up to wear and tear and heavy foot traffic.
