I am really excited to welcome you all to participate in our Fernie Canada Celebrations at Prentice Park. The sponsorship this year has been phenomenal - with over 33 business, organizations and individuals giving of their time and talent to support this

great community event. We would like to especially thank Heritage Canada for their continued support of these celebrations across the country. Our pride in being Canadian really shines through on days like this.

Our day begins at noon with the singing of O Canada and the ever popular Birthday cakes. The day will continue on with fun events for the kids such as bike rodeos, treasure hunts, dunk tanks, craft tent with face painting and the Bouncy Play structures. The ever popular Mountain Market will be set up till 5:00 pm for you to purchase the many local goods that are available weekly during the summer months. There will be a refreshment garden over the course of the day with live music by our own Shred Kelly and Backin Blues to Relief Committee and Danger Floyd and the Bickertons with a Fire Dancing Exhibition later at night.

The City of Fernie is proud to support this day as we celebrate Canada’s 144th Birthday. On behalf of the Mayor, Council and Staff, please enjoy yourself and show you Canadian pride by participating in the many events and stay around till dusk when we will again have a very spectacular fireworks display.
