– Heat exchangers are most often seen facilities in the industry. during the process of the heat exchange, fouling is a seriously problem.

– the fouling reduces severely the efficiency of the heat transfer, results in great loss of energy and even affects the safe of the equipment .

– Observation and research on the fouling has been taken since 1920s, however, until now the fouling in heat exchangers is still an unsolved problem.

– So it’s of great significance to find new methods to improve the fouling resistance of the heat exchang-ers. economically, it’s of great benefits.

– the fouling is difficult to stick onto the heat transfer surfaces with low surface free energy.

– the micro-nano coatings as heat transfer surfaces are prepared on the substrates of stainless steel.

– The fouling tests on the coatings are carried out in the fouling solution of CaSO4.

– Shigehito Deki prepared TiO2 films on the glass sub-strate with LPD method.

– Zeng zhenou prepared uniform and compact TiO2 coating surface on the 304 stainless steel.

– It can be known from the literatures that TiO2 coat-ing surface shows high fouling resistance and anti-corrosion performance.

–Experiment process

– Firstly, the stainless steel are polished and then ul-trasonic cleaning with 10% NaOH solution, absolute alcohol and de-ionized water successively.

– Prepare deposition solution with (NH4)2TiF6 and H3BO3 and use LPD method to prepare TiO2 coating. After deposited for a certain time, the stainless steel was heat treated .

–Experiment process

– The prepared TiO2 coating surface was then dipped into the FPS solution for 2-3h and heat treated at 150 to prepare TiO℃ 2-FPS composite coatings. Sur-face prepared by this method shows high hydropho-bic.

– Test the performance of the TiO2 and the composite hydrophobic coatings in the pool boiling system.
