Dear Friends,
On behalf of the Board of Directors, welcome to Jewish Family Service of the Desert’s 12th Annual House & Garden Walk.
We would like to extend our deepest appreciation to the five homeowners who have generously shared their exquisite homes with us for this one special day. We are truly honored to have some of the loveliest properties in the desert to showcase for this event.
We would also like to thank Deanna Pearl and Joyce Wolff for their incredible leadership in making this one of the most successful House & Garden Walks in the 12 year history of the event. Thank you also to Kevin Katz and Babs Schrager for their hard work in producing this beautiful program book. Finally, we greatly appreciate the dedication of the house captains and the docents for their work in effortlessly facilitating the experience of hundreds of our guests touring the homes.
All of the proceeds of today’s event benefit the men, women and children served by Jewish Family Service of the Desert. Your support provides critically needed services for some of the most vulnerable members of our community. Thank you for your commitment to the work of Jewish Family Service of the Desert.

Designer Michael S. Smith has created a gracious and beautiful traditional interior for this home. Mr. Smith is one of Architectural Digest’s Top 100 Designers and is currently serving as the designer for the Obama White House. The melding of traditional design and the contemporary art of Jean Dubuffet, Henry Moore, Julian Schnabel, and Morris Louis offer a feast for the eyes.

Some of the artists represented include Renoir, David Hockney, Nicholas Africano, Botero, Deborah Butterfield, Robert Graham and Fletcher Benton. The home’s interior designer, Terry Hunz�iker, has been named as one of Architectural Digest’s Top 100 Designers.
Only the ‘good bones’ of this striking contemporary home were retained when it was completely renovated by the present owners in the last year. The owners desired and maintained a commitment to simplicity in the sleek interior design. Some of the artists represented here are Michael Goldberg, Giorgio Cavallon, and Ellsworth Kelly.
