H R 1224: “Recognizing and honoring the important work that Colombia's Constitutional Court has done on behalf of Colom-

bia's internally displaced persons, especially indigenous peoples, Afro-Colombians, and women.”

This resolution introduced by Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA) congratulates the Colombian Constitutional Court’s work to protect inter-

nally displaced persons, especially Afro-Colombians, indigenous and women, and calls on the U.S. government to work with Co-

lombian government authorities to ensure that Constitutional Court orders protecting IDPs are implemented.

Honduras Letter to Clinton

This letter initiated by Reps. McGovern (D-MA) and Schakowsky (D-IL) on the anniversary of the coup in Honduras calls on the Sec-

retary of State to send the Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor to Honduras to assess the serious

situation of human rights in the country and develop a plan to address it.

H R 4321: Comprehensive Immigration Reform ASAP Act of 2009

This bill sponsored by Rep. Ortiz (D-TX ), the `Comprehensive Immigration Reform ASAP Act of 2009,’ includes many provisions

necessary to reform our broken immigration system , including a path to legalization for many of undocumented individuals, meas-

ures to maintain family unity, abolish the 287 (g) program, and suspend Operation Streamline pending an evaluation.

H R 4645: Travel Restriction Reform and Export Enhancement Act

This act introduced by Rep. Peterson (D-MN) would remove obstacles to legal sales of United States agricultural commodities to

Cuba and to end travel restrictions on all Americans to Cuba.
