1926 First hospital cancer registry established at Yale-New Haven Hospital
1935 Connecticut General Assembly passes Senate Bill 101 authorizing the State Board of Health to “…make investigation concerning cancer, the prevention and treatment thereof and the mortality therefrom...”
1941 Connecticut Tumor Registry established (first population-based registry in the US) recording details of cancer cases from 1935 onwards
