Say hello to Sanaiticus and vaticanus!

Page 3: 2010 03 21 6 May Alam Ako Sa Bible! Version 2

Sanaiticus and Vaticanus• When someone “corrects” the KJV with

other manuscripts, they usually refer to Sanaiticus and Vaticanus.

• They are two very corrupt fourth century uncials (1851-1871).

• Vaticanus (B) is catalogued in the Vatican Library and Sanaiticus (Aleph) was discovred in a trash can at St. Catherine’s Monastery on Mt. Sinai. Both of them are Roman Catholic Manuscripts.

Sanaiticus and Vaticanus• Other facts:

– Both contain the Apocrypha as part of the Old Testament.

– Vaticanus was available to the KJV translators, but God gave them enough sense to ignore it.

– Vaticanus omits the following:• Genesis 1:1-46:28• Psalm 106-138• Mathew 16:2-3• Romans 16:24• 1 Timothy to Titus• Entire book of Revelation• The book ends at Hebrews 9:14 (If you are familiar with Hebrews 10, you will know why)

Sanaiticus and Vaticanus– While adding the Epistle of Barnabas and the

Shepherd of Hermas to the NT, Sanaiticus omits John 5:4, 8:1-11, Matthew 16:2-3, Romans 16:24, Mark 16:9-20; Acts 8:37 and 1 John 5:7 (just to name a few).

– It is believed that Sanaiticus was altered by ten different men (that’s maybe why it is in the trashcan)

– The Dutch Scholar Erasmus (1949-1536) who produced the world’s first printed Greek New Testament, rejected the readings of Vaticanus and Sanaiticus.

– B and Aleph not only disagree with majority text from which the KJV came, but they also differ from each other. From four Gospels alone, they differ over 3,000 times!

• Brooke Foss Westcott (1825-1901) and Fenton John Anthony Hort (1828-1892) were two English “scholars” who produced the corrupt Greek text of the modern versions.

• In their autobiography book, no account of personal salvation was mentioned (1,800 pages) and Jesus’ name was mentioned only nine times!

• Westcott was:– firm believer in Mary worship, – Did not believe in the Second Coming of Christ, the

Millennium, or a literal heaven.– A beer drinker. He even was a spokesman for a

brewery.– Confessed he was a Communist by nature

• Hort was:– claiming that Mary worship had a lot in common with

Jesus worship.– A believer in the sacraments– Believed in baptismal regeneration as taught in the

Catholic Church.– Rejected the infallibility of the Scriptures.– Took great interest in the works of Charles Darwin– Did not believe in the Trinity and angels.

• Both of them was:– A non-believer of Hell and a believer in Purgatory,– Took interest in Occult practices and started the

Hermes Club in 1845, the Ghostly Guild in 1851, and Hort joined the Apostles in the same year, all spiritualists groups which believe in unscriptural practices as communicating with the dead (necromancy).

• The REVISION Committee for the revised version (1871-1881) planned to revise the KJV. And Westcott and Hort was working with them, but they met in silence for ten years

How was the Bible translated?

• This means the the KJV had to pass at elast FOURTEEN LONG GRUELING examinations before going to press.

• Throughout the entire process, any learned individuals of the land could be called upon for their judgment, and the churches were well informed of the progress.

• QUESTION: Does THIS sound like an HONEST work of God or a DISHONEST work of the Devil?
