_______________________________________________________ Richard Nazarian Named One of 100 Notable People in the Medical Device Industry ST. PAUL, Minn. May 7, 2008 - Richard Nazarian, Minnetronix President, CEO and co-founder,
has been recognized for his contributions to the medical device industry by the editors of Medical
Device & Diagnostic Industry (MD&DI), a Canon Communications LLC publication. Mr. Nazarian
was selected as one of the magazine’s 100 notable people in the medical device industry and will
be featured in the June 2008 edition of MD&DI.
Rich has worked for over 20 years in the medical device field, beginning with product
development efforts for implantable artificial heart electronics, cardiopulmonary bypass systems,
laser imaging systems, and other products. Rich’s numerous patents, papers and awards testify
to his interest and excellence in the medical device field.
In 1996, Rich, along with Jonathan Pierce and Dirk Smith, founded St. Paul-based Minnetronix,
Inc., as a software and electronics company specifically focused on medical device product
development and manufacturing. Since founding Minnetronix, Rich has served as President and
CEO, providing both business and technical leadership. In this position, he has contributed to the
creation of innovative medical devices ranging from cancer treatment systems to heart-lung
machines, nerve growth stimulators, and ventricular assist devices.
His leadership as President and CEO has guided Minnetronix as it’s grown from three employees
with one project in 1996, to 130+ employees and over 30 concurrent design and manufacturing
programs in 2007.
