The Chamber of Commerce of Bay Shore is a community organization endeavoring to undertake programs andprojects designed to improve and preserve the best interest and welfare of the total community. Its primary functionand overriding concern is the betterment of the business community, serving the commercial, industrial andprofessional interests which strengthen its economic base.
Membership in the Chamber of Commerce is open to all businesses, professionals and residents of Bay Shore-Brightwaters.
Some of the many services we perform are:
• Providing information for new businesses and residents
• Handling inquiries on potential relocations
• Conducting special community-wide events and promotional efforts
• Serving as liaison among the various segments of the business community
• Reviewing governmental legislation that affects the interests of businesses and residents
• Continuing efforts to maintain and beautify the town’s business and residential areas
• Developing and maintaining a profile of Bay Shore’s businesses
The Chamber of Commerce of Greater Bay Shore invites all businesses and residents to become members and to participate in
its committees and programs. Meetings are held at 7 PM at the Bay Shore-Brightwaters Library as shown on events schedule.

The cool southwest breezes provided guests with seaside holidays in the summertime.
The Old Orchard Hotel later became Saxon Arms...Telephone: Bay Shore 2651.
New York City residents came to enjoy days in the country with fishing, bathing and sailing. From 1860 to the early 1900s, these visitors who were introduced
to Bay Shore on vacations at the hotels, were so charmed that they bought property and built houses here.

Built by John Pullis in 1888, on South Clinton Avenue, the Linwood Hotel accommodated 150 guests. It was destroyed by fire in 1925.
