BPW AIMS AND UN STRATEGY
BPW International aims to unite business and professional women in all parts of the world to:1. Work for women‘s equal opportunity and representation in
economic, civil and political life 2. Encourage and support women and girls to:
– develop their professional and leadership potential – undertake lifelong education and training – use their abilities for the benefit of others, locally,
nationally and internationally

3. Advocate: • for the elimination of all discrimination against women • for human rights and the use of gender-sensitive
perspectives 4. Undertake: • non-profit projects that help women gain economic
independence • to present the views of business and professional
women to international organizations and agencies, and to business, governments and civil society.
BPW International has Consultative Status
with the United Nations• BPW International, is a non-governmental
organization (NGO) that has had Consultative Status with the United Nations through the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since 1947.
• At present there are a total of 23 members of BPW International serving as representatives at the United Nations and its subsidiary organs, specialized agencies and related organizations in all continents.
BPW UN STRATEGY• BPW International will work to maintain its status with the United
Nations by sending in time all statements to UN Agencies. • Ensure the accreditation and participation of members at other
sessions and conferences organized by UN agencies (UN Women, International Trade Center, UNCTAD, UN-DESA) according to the demands and interests of members with the help of UN Administrator.
• Strengthen the capacity of BPW International's members on UN accreditation process to grown Membership
• Build a UN CSW Team of technical work with the responsible of communication with president office
• Build also UN status of Women standing Committee• Make more visible the BPW International's actions within the United
Nations and its various agencies
BPW UN STRATEGY• Facilitate BPW’s participation in the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) at
the United Nations each year including:– Supporting Federations & Clubs to maximize their representation through the
provision of resources and assistance to encourage member states (Federation’s own Governments) to ensure BPW is able to bring more members than the designated 20 delegates
– Developing tools and resources to expand the profile of BPW Federations achievement through an expanded CSW parallel events program
• Develop and deploy a strategy that will strengthening and maintaining the long standing BPW relationship with UN Women and the broader United Nations Community.
• Work with Federations and clubs to establish and/or strengthen their domestic relationships with UN Women and UN Sponsored activities in their own Countries.
