fully, with the Championship safely in hand. We say this becaus& N.S.W. re-enter-ed this competition series in 1974, after eight years absence and finished 'insecond place. So, with the success of our Teal Cup Team, and the Sh&1I CupTeam now playing in Sydney, who knows, we may take out the Grand Slam.

To all players and teams, best of luck, and an injury free series and to ourSydney team members congratulations on making the side.

    R.I.P. CHARLES HANSEN

    A POINT OF INTEREST

During the period of 1961.1972, players chosen to represent the State ofNew South Wales in the Annual Shell Cup Championship, were selected fromteams within the Sydney-Metropolitan area. This virtually meant, with twowins in 12 years, that we were only in the series to make the number up.

Then came the turning of the tide in 1973, when it was resolved that weutilise the services of Schoolboys of the State. The success of our move isrecorded by our win of the 1973 Championship, followed by our best perform-ance yet in Season 1974.

However the State of New South Wales is not complacent, we fully anti-cipate our rival States must and will lift their standard if they wish to annexethe Championship in future years. .

TEAM TRAINERSMessrs W. (Bill) Fenney, R. Myers (Pennant Hills A.F.C.), M. Chatwyn (Bal-

main A.F.C.), and Bermingham (Western Suburbs A.F.C.) are each most com.petent in their sphere and the appreciation of the three competing States arerecorded to the Senior League Clubs for making their services available. Mr. W.Fenney has been appointed Head Trainer for the series.

APPRECIATIONTo Western Suburbs A.F.C. ltd., for allowing us the privelege of the use of

Picken Oval and its environments for the 1975 Shell Cup Championship.
