Celebration of Fr. Mazzuchelli

We are quite fortunate to have Bishop Hying to come to our neck of the woods and celebrate a holy Mass at the Mound. The original plan to have a tent and celebrate Mass in nature, was switched to a an air conditioned version of holy Mass, to which we all will say “great!” We are with you Bishop! Because of this great celebration we will NOT have any Sunday Masses in our Churches. We will have a 4:30 pm Vigil Mass on August 7 at SF. So if you don’t want to come to the Mound on Sun-day - 8:30 am, please visit us at SF on Saturday 4:30 pm.

OTHER INFO TO KEEP IN MIND SF - The hosts and wine are offered in memory of Clarence and Cecelia Quinlan and Deceased Members of the Quin-lan Family. SF - The Rose of Life is offered in Memory of Jim and Mae Knautz by Jim/Mary Knautz St. Joseph School is looking for a 5th and 6th grade teach-er for the 2021-2022 school year. EXTRA MASSES, CONFESSIONS, ADORATION After I had looked at the neighboring parishes, I did notice that there was NO Monday Mass, except in Darlington, if the website there is correct. For this reason we will start Masses on Mondays beginning on August 2nd at St. Jo-seph Church. These Masses will be at the usual time: 8:15 am. We do have FIRST FRIDAY Masses already which we cele-brate at SF at 8:15 am. We will add FIRST SATURDAY Mass es at SF, at 8:15 am. To be able to gain the indulgences for these holy Masses, CONFESSIONS will be available after the First Friday and First Saturday Masses, from 8:45 am until 9:45 am, combined with ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT. This is what it will look like: 8:15 am holy Mass 8:45 - 9:45 am ADORATION and Confession.

WEB PAGE - EMAIL ADDRESS - PHONE We are making baby steps, but forward we go. I have started a webpage where you will be able to find helpful information. It is still under construction, but you find in-teresting things, especially the calendar might be very use-ful and is displayed there. The temporal URL is:

Prayers at the end of holy Mass Saint Michael the Archangel, Defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; And do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host - By the Divine Power of God - Cast into hell, Satan and all the evil spirits, Who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen. Our Lady of Good Success – Pray for us. St. Joseph – Pray for us. All you holy Angels and Saints – Pray for us. May the divine assistance always remain with us and may the souls of the faithful departed, through the mer-cy of GOD rest in peace. Amen.

Holy Communion You probably noticed by now, that we have switched over to new holy Communion hosts. The ones we had were baked as a sheet and cut out, while these new ones are baked individually. The reason for the switch is the following: We know that Jesus is fully present, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity - in each and every particle of the host, as well as in every drop of Precious Blood. When cutting out hosts, there are always some crumbs falling from the host, which is not good at all! Besides when the conse-crated host is given, particles fall to the ground if one is not very, very careful. With the new hosts, this should not be a problem any more. Never the less, we must be very cautious when receiving the Eucharist. The best and most reverend way to receive Jesus is by kneeling and receiving on the tongue. In this way, there are only the hands of the priest involved handling the sacred species. If you prefer to receive Jesus in the hand, place one hand over the other, wait for the host to be placed into the hand, then step aside one step so as to let the next per-son come forward. After stepping aside, take the hand underneath the hand that holds Jesus and with your thumb and index finger, take Jesus in place Him gently into your mouth before walking away. If you hold something - like a book, a Rosary or a child or anything else, please receive on the tongue and not in the hand. Since we talk about the Eucharist, we might as well men-tion that we must make a sign of reverence before it is

our turn to receive Holy Commun-ion. This sign can be a genuflec-tion or a deep bow, even while the person in front of you receives our LORD. Please never walk away with Jesus in your hand. Always consume Jesus right away. When receiving on the tongue these things we would not have to worry about, since kneeling IS a sign of rever-ence and Jesus will be placed in

the mouth by the priest. And since we talk about that we should become aware of the holiness of this GOD who comes to us at holy Mass - there is something else that we need to consider: Ever wondered why the priest wears his priestly garb, at holy Mass he puts on an ALB (white garment), then a STOLE as well as a CHASUBLE. Several layers of clothing - why? Because he comes into the presence of GOD. Even Peter, after Jesus’ resurrection, when he and his cronies went fishing, Jesus came on the shore and called out to them. St. John told Peter - it is the LORD. So Pe-ter put on cloths, for he was lightly clad as Scripture says. We must not become careless especially in our attire when we come to holy Mass. It is not something one does, or goes to - unless you know that it is a meeting with the living GOD. I know it is Summer, but our AC is working overtime to remedy this situation. Please do not wear shorts or skimpy blouses or shirts. We want to be clothed properly when meeting our LORD.
