WELCOME BRAYDEN!
The parish is happy to announce that we have a new Mass server. Brayden Gibson recently served his first Mass with his grandpa, Mark Vander Linden. We are proud of Brayden for wanting to volunteer. Jesus said “let the children come to me” and what a beautiful example Brayden is of that. Thank you Mark and Brayden for serving your parish in such a special way.

Our Seminarians Need Your Help:
Over the past 16 years, our diocese has witnessed incredible growth in all vocations including the priesthood. Let’s keep that growth going and support our future spiritual fathers!
Please be generous with our Annual Seminarian Collection Hope for the Future, Help them Today. An important letter will arrive in your mailbox this week asking for your help. Next weekend is the kick off of the 16th year of this annual collection. Your donation provides tuition, room and board, insurance, a small stipend for our seminarians and will support the Vocation Office’s efforts to call forth more candidates. The total annual cost for our 16 seminarians is around $1,000,000. As friends and followers of Jesus, we support each other. In order to make your gift today, visit www.catholicfoundationgb.org/give.
Funeral Luncheons Are Returning & Thank You! We are very happy to share that a full catered meal is now available in our parish cafeteria after a funeral Mass. The parish has been patiently waiting to be able to offer this option to our families. Of course we are sensitive to the current situation and we will continue to follow all the guidelines set forth. Our volunteers are ready to serve families again. They have missed their ministry!
Secondly, as we return to serving families I would like to personally thank Ann Nienhaus for her many years of helping with the luncheons. Ann would work every funeral meal and was always available. She has made the decision to step down from the ministry. While we won’t see her in the kitchen any longer we
look forward to seeing her at Mass. Thank you Ann for your dedicated service to the families and the parish.

---------- PARISH INFORMATION ---------- ------- Bishop Ricken ------
Our babies are getting bigger for sure, just shy of 15 inches for length and weighing in at 2.2 lbs. Their sense of hearing, smell, and touch are developed and functional. Now forming
this trimester is myelin. A protective covering forming around the baby`s nerves. This process starts now and continues for a year after birth. Mom`s symptoms lately, leg cramps. More common at night but also during the day. Caused by the expanding uterus putting pressure on the veins returning blood from Mom`s legs to her heart. Also pressured are the nerves leading from Mom`s torso to her legs. Hello 3rd trimester - Good-Bye feet. At 28 weeks Mom may likely have a baby bump that hides her feet while standing. Keep praying 12 weeks and counting down!

Lifting the Dispensation On the weekend of August 15, the Feast of the Assumption of Mary, Bishop Ricken will be lifting the dispensation to attend the Sunday Mass. What is a dispensation? Who has it applied to? Does this mean that if I care for someone who is sick or I
cannot go to Mass because of my own illness I am now obliged to go to Mass on Sunday? Please read Bishop’s column in the July 16 edition of The Compass and watch an accompanying video in which Bishop talks about the lifting of the dispensation and how it applies to you. You can find the column and video at this link: www.gbdioc.org/backtoMass or find the link on our website at www.sacredheartappleton.com
