HOW PEOPLE USED TO CONNECT WITH EACH OTHER IN THE PAST WHEN

THERE WAS NO INTERNET AND NO NETWORKING ?

The answer is very simple and we all know is :- Via telephone and meetings.

Earlier business, sharing information, data, files, discussion etc was very difficult but due to the emergence of Internet, it has made our lives easy and convenient.

This was so because everything was done via personal contacts, meetings and all… which means through

face to face personal contacts

3. Sharing files…

5. Buying/selling of almost everything.

We feel connected with our friends, family members, colleagues, corporate world, and rest of the world via internet only coz its cheap and easily available and accessible.

So the question which arises is how do we connect with these people ?

Popular methods now combine many of these, With Face book widely used worldwide; MySpace, Twitter and LinkedIn being the most widely

Put simply, social networking is a way for one person to meet up with other people on the Net.

Some people use social networking sites for meeting new friends on the Net.

Other's use it to find old friends. Then there are those who use it to find people who have the same problems or interests they have, this is called niche networking.

Orkut was launched on November 17, 2002 by the Google.

It was the brainchild of Orkut Büyükkökten, a Turkish software engineer, who developed it as an independent project while working at Google.

He developed Orkut as an independent project (all employees at Google can [Orkut Buyukkokten] spend 20% of their time working on personal interests)

Bebo is a social networking website launched in July 2005. It is owned by Criterion Capital Partners. From March 2008 to June 2010 it was owned by AOL Inc.

It was acquired by AOL on March 13, 2008 for $850 million.[4][5] In April 2010, AOL announced it was planning to sell or shut down Bebo

MySpace was inspired by the website Friendster. Friendster is also a social networking website, and allows for individuals to connect and talk with each other through the Internet.

In August 2003, the first version of MySpace was launched. The website used a number of the most popular features from the Friendster site, but changed them enough that there were no copyright issues.
