A disciple is someone who is led by the Spirit, by the will of the Father, in the person of Jesus. First Aspect of Discipleship (1 of 5) A disciple is in an active positive salvific relationship with the Trinity. God wants to know us and hopefully we want to know God. In a healthy relationship, those involved let the other reveal who they are and receive with reverence what is shared. To know that God wants to know me and to be in a relationship with me is awesome. A disciple also wants to be in a relationship with God. Somewhere along the line, the disciple has encountered God as good and that this relationship with God is leading in a positive direction. God is not the dysfunctional friend or abusive parent. The way God interacts with us is healthy and leads me to become a healthier more whole and holy person. Over the course of time there may be human hang ups that we have projected upon God from our own backgrounds that get worked out. Even in the midst of these dysfunctions God is revealing Himself as good and holy. At the heart of this relationship is God desiring us to be with Him so much so that He offered to give His life so that we could live with Him. Salvation. God knows who we really are and that on our own we can neither know Him nor be fully ourselves. This relationship restores each of us to what we are meant to be which is in a communion with the Trinity reflecting their image and likeness. This relationship is ongoing and ever deepening. It does not end and will be eternally engaging. It is a positive, active, salvific relationship. Do you know that God wants to know you? To reveal Himself to you? To walk with you in this life? To share life with you for eternity? Ask the Trinity what’s next in your relationship with them? Convocation Presbyteral Convocation went well this year. We met in Frankenmuth and discussed various topics. On Tuesday we spent a bit of time discussing expectations for ourselves as priests and for each other as a presbyterate. Wednesday was about receiving and discussing a new funding model for Catholic schools in the diocese. Thursday, we had discussions about parish groupings from RRM. Specifically, we reviewed Moderator and pastor job descriptions under this new system. We also looked at the topics that need to be discussed and agreed upon when priests are put into these working relationships with each other. A good week. Thank you for your prayers. You are in my prayers. Fr. Karl Pung
Thank you!!! Thank you!! To Fr. Karl, Fr. David and the St. Mary Cathedral Community, the volunteers from St. Casimir and all who made Sunday's reunion SO PERFECT...... THANK YOU. Words fail me. When I walked into the cathedral and saw over 200 people who had come to celebrate liturgy, I was so inspired. I had had 3 masses that morning and was running out of steam. But seeing many long time friends and power of the Holy Spirit of God. We celebrated, we rejoiced, we ate well and we told stories of past and present. Such a joy filled day. Once again from the bottom of my heart, thank you, thank you. Fr. Bill Lugger

WEDNESDAY NIGHT POTLUCK
In 2018, Pope Francis met with an international group of cnonsecrated widows that unite their prayers for the en-tire Church. He encouraged the women to continue as their prayers “support the Church.” The group stared in France in 1942 during WWII, to help the many young war-time widows with their loss. Fr. Karl asked if a Wid-ow’s Rosary group would be formed here at the Cathe-dral. The group formed in 20020. They meet the 2nd Monday of the month at 10:30am in the Crypt. They pray a scriptural Rosary, St. Therese Prayer for Priests, the Prayer to Mary, Mother of the Church, Litany of Lore-to, and Prayer for Widows. Open to all widows.
