Magnet #1 Completion Schedule

• End plate errors corrected and end-plate welding completed

• Magnet “tower” components installed and insulated with MLI

• Tower will be vacuum sealed today and made ready for pumpdown

• Pumping will take a few days, followed by detailed leak check

• Barring vacuum problems, magnet cool down will commence Starting May 24 using LN2 and LHe

• Week of June 2: magnet filling w/LHe, energizing and magnetic testing

• Lost about 1 week due to end-plate glitch

• Instrumentation and power cables being prepared by next week; Wang will provide connectors for instrumentation used at Fermilab and RAL

Cryocooler Testing, FNAL Testing Prep

• Still under way

• Currently working on shipping arrangements to FNAL

• Still have to decide if the magnet will be shipped cold

- If shipped warm, need to decide if under vacuum or not

- Shipping cold is the current preference
