Logistics information will be available soon on the IPWG website: http://ipwg.isac.cnr.it/ June 1 st -5 th , 2020 Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Abstract Submission Abstracts that deal with current operational and research precipitation estimation techniques, applications to hydrology, climate, and weather, data assimilation, validation, sensor calibration, and future satellite missions are encouraged. The abstract should be in English, approximately one half of an A4 , and submitted through the IPWG. A call for abstract will be released in the Fall of 2019. Registration applications and abstracts will be reviewed by the Joint Program Committee of IPWG and IWSSM. About IPWG The International Precipitation Working Group was initiated in 2000 after the 52 nd session of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Executive Council recommended involving relevant science groups in a systematic manner to improve satellite system utilization. IPWG was then endorsed by Coordination Group for Meteorological Satellites (CGMS). IPWG provides a forum for operational and research users of satellite precipitation measurements to exchange information and fosters the development of better measurements and improvement of their utilization, the improvement of scientific understanding, and the development of international partnerships. About IWSSM The first International Workshop on Space-based Snowfall Measurement was held in 2005. The goal of IWSSM is to bring together researchers focusing on the measurement of snowfall from space using active and passive microwave sensors for the purpose of assessing the state of the science and measurement technology and to recommend future directions in research and technology development.
