"I MUST PARTNER AS A SOULWINNER WITH THE MISSIONARIES WHO INVOLVE IN WORLD MISSIONS." VOLUME 22 • ISSUE 42 • OCTOBER 21 PARTNERS IN INVOLVEMENT We should always see it as a blessing to be a part of the church that preaches the Gospel. While there may be thousands of false religions existing, God is gracious enough to show us the truth and save our souls from hell. Nobody deserves to be saved, but because of His love, we got saved and became part of the church. It is now our responsibility to proclaim to others that salvation we received by our involvement and investment. Let us appreciate His love by being generous with that Gospel we once obtained. As we look forward to our Missions Conference next week, I am more challenged upon visiting Thailand and Taiwan for the past two weeks. The churches that we visited and people that we ministered were all direct results of members who are involved in missions. I am grateful to lead a church where many members have that desire to involve and invest not just in the church but also in local and foreign missions. As we continue to prepare for the event, let us join our prayer vigil tomorrow while we open our hearts to God’s Word today. Have a Spirit-filled Sunday! DR. ED M. LAURENA

09DAYS TO GO!

The Lord’s blessings upon us are more than millions of pesos. In fact, the Bible asserts that the Lord has “blessed us with all spiritual blessings” which are exceedingly enriching. With such enormous wealth, God is asking us to share an amount to complete our PI,000,000.00 commitment for His mission work. Let us be a blessing by giving our part.

Don’t miss our Discipleship Promotion this afternoon!

Christ’s last command before He ascended to Heaven is found in Mark 16:15, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Every person has an eternal soul,

and it is our privilege and responsibility to share with them the good news of salvation. Proverbs 11:30 says, “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.” Although we do not save souls, we are to witness to them and lead them to the Lord who does save them. How can we take these biblical principles and practically apply them in personally leading others to Christ? We must first realize that no one becomes a good soulwinner by accident. Fruitful soulwinning happens through Spirit-filled people who develop habits of being ready and available for God to use them. Below are five habits that are consistently present in men and women who regularly lead others to Christ:

Habits of Fruitful Soulwinners5 Characteristics of Spirit-filled Soulwinners

We Died Before We Came Here When James Calvert went out as a missionary to the cannibals of the Fiji Islands, the ship captain tried to turn him back, saying, “You will lose your life and the lives of those with you if you go among such savages.” To that, Calvert replied, “We died before we came here.” "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." Philippians 1:21

1. Fruitful Soulwinners Pray for a BurdenIt’s so easy for our burden for others to get swallowed in the rush of a busy schedule. The only way to sustain a heart-felt burden for souls is to daily pray for God to help us see lost people with His compassion. If this is not already on our daily prayer list, we should add it!

2. Fruitful Soulwinners Carry Gospel TractsCarrying tracts helps us be soul conscious wherever we go. Additionally, a Gospel tract equips us to easily begin a conversation about the Lord and salvation. Even if we only have a moment, at least we can leave the other person with a printed Gospel presentation.

3. Fruitful Soulwinners Are Attentive in Church Services—Especially During the invitationThose who are soul conscious seek out visitors at church, befriend them, and specifically ask them about salvation. They don’t just assume that everyone they see is saved, but they make it their mission to find out!

4. Fruitful Soulwinners Are HospitableSome people are saved during a brief encounter with a soulwinner at their doorstep. But many require hearing the Gospel multiple times before they understand their need for salvation. Hospitality allows us to build a relationship that will facilitate multiple presentations of the Gospel. It assures them that we are genuinely interested in their lives, and it opens them to hear our message.Of course, hospitality is also an essential ingre-dient in discipling someone after they are saved.

5. Fruitful Soulwinners Involve New Converts in SoulwinningEvery unsaved person has unsaved friends. Fruitful soulwinners encourage new converts to reach their unsaved friends. They ask them who their friends are and help new converts share their testimony with their friends.

Soulwinning itself is a habit!

Only the Holy Spirit can convict hearts of their need

for Christ (John 16:8–9), but He uses Christians who make time to talk to people face to face and share the

wonderful news of salvation.

William Booth on Soulwinning

Many years ago a young man went to China as a missionary with an income of $2,500 annually. A company decided that they wanted this young man to work for them and offered

him a position with a $5,000 salary. He declined the offer, and it was raised to $7,000 and then to $10,000, but he still declined. The company asked him if the salary was his sticking point and he answered, “Oh, the salary is big enough, but the job isn’t.”The greatest job in the world is the soul-saving business."For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" Matthew 8:36

“‘Not called!’ did you say? ‘Not heard the call,’ I think you should say. Put your ear down to the Bible, and hear it bid you go and pull sinners out of the fire of sin. Put your ear down to the burdened, agonized heart of humanity, and listen to its pitiful wail for help. Go stand by the gates of hell, and hear the damned entreat you to go to their father’s house and bid their brothers and sisters, and servants and masters not to come there. And then look Christ in the face, whose mercy you have professed to obey, and tell Him whether you will join heart and soul and body and circumstances in the march to publish his mercy to the world.”

Praying WithFaith

When Hudson Taylor sailed to China, he heard an urgent knock on his stateroom door. He opened

it, and there stood the captain of the ship. “Mr. Taylor,” he said, “we have no wind. We are drifting toward an island where the people are heathen, and I fear they are cannibals.”“What can I do?” asked Taylor.“I understand that you believe in God. I want you to pray for wind.”“All right, Captain, I will, but you must set the sail.”“Why that’s ridiculous! There’s not even the slightest breeze. Besides, the sailors will think I’m crazy.” But fi-nally, because of Taylor’s insistence, he agreed. Forty-five minutes later he returned and found the missionary still on his knees. “You can stop praying now,” said the captain. “We’ve got more wind than we know what to do with!”

"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." - HEBREWS 11:6 -
