You can create a lesson plan much quicker if you link your Individual Task via “importing the task” as a TLO or an ELO by choosing the red or green box next to the task.

Creating a Lesson Plan from an Individual TaskTUTORIAL: Import Individual Task as ELO

Every Individual Task must have its own learning objective in a lesson plan. Best practice in designing lesson plans will normally only cover one task listed in TDC. The learning step activities should fulfill the performance measures of the task. Ensure that your individual task supports your lesson plan and your lesson plan supports what you are trying to teach. Every Individual Task has a Synopsis Report that provides the key elements needed to build a quality lesson plan. This report is available in TDC (Individual Task-Tools-Synopsis Report).

Note: If more than one Individual Task is imported as an ELO, the overall TLO must be modified to be general enough to apply to all LSAs included in the lesson plan. It must also be written from a classroom environment perspective not an operational one.

Choosing the red button will link the task to your Lesson and create a TLO with LSAs and PEs. The LSAs are created from your task Performance Steps. This enables the developer to create a Lesson in a much more efficient fashion. Choosing the green button will link the task as an ELO with LSAs and PEs.

NOTE: If more than one individual task is linked as

an ELO, each imported task will auto-populate its own TLO (Action, Conditions, Standards statement).

A Practical Exercise (PE) is generated for each LSA auto-

populated in Section III. Presentation. For space

purposes, only two PEs are shown in this Tutorial for each task imported as an ELO (A.

Plan Convoy Operations and B.

Conduct Convoy Operations). However, all twenty-three (23)

PEs are automatically produced. TDC will allow PEs to

be deleted if they will not be used. In TDC, right click the PE you want to remove and select

“Delete.”
