CHALLANGES that we face
Reducing CO2 emissions that cause the greenhouse effect;
Reducing energy expenses in public buildings;
Developing an institutional framework for regional activities in the energy efficiency field;
Strengthening the capacities of the public and private sectors in order to increase energy efficiency;
Raising public awareness of the need for, as well as the means to, efficiently combat climate change.

Our OBJECTIVES
To raise awarenes among local societies and authorities on the great potential that public, business and residential buildings have in decreasing energy consumption and consequently on the environmental benefit of such a reduction;
To propose all the possible interventions on these buildings in order to decrease their energy consumption and to cover a significant part of their consumption with environmentally-friendly or renewable energy technologies;
To incluse bioclimatic studies and implementation of energy efficiency measures as parts of the improvement of existing buildings and in the design and construction of future buildings.

What will we achieve?
Energy characteristics of 50 public buildings in the Cross-border Municipalities of Resen, Bitola and Prespes are determined;
The practices from the pilot application of new legal regulations for energy control are shared with the public;
Increased public awareness of the economical benefits of improved energy efficiency;
The promotion of two modalities for the implementation of measures for energy efficiency through:
Improving energy efficiency of a pilot public building by applying the model of “smart”, low budget interventions;
A study for achieving zero energy emissions in existing public building by applying the model for all encompassing interventions;

What will we achieve?
Informative and professional services for energy efficiency are constantly available to the private and public sector in accordance with their needs;
A comprehensive Guide for the application of measures for energy efficiency is published in 20.000 copies, in Macedonian Language;
The preparedness of the public sector in the Municiplity of Resen has been upgraded to meet the goal of reducing energy expenses by 20% by the end of 2015;
Strengthening the position of the civil sector in the fields of environment protection and fighting climate change.
