• Introduction and importance of Information Systems Security. Relevant Industry surveys and economic losses.

• Technical overview of an Information Technology System. Explanation of client – server architecture and databases. Terminology

• Overview of the threats that exist : natural disasters, malicious software (viruses, worms, trojan horses etc.), hacking, espionage, disgruntled employees
