1. BRIEF HISTORY ABOUT NCC UNIT

The one of the glittering feather in the golden crown of Girraj Govt.

College(A), Nizamabad is its N.C.C. Unit.

Lieutenant P.Ram Mohan Reddy, Head Dept. of Mathematics,

Associate NCC Officer.

Our NCC unit 64/12(A) Coy Girraj Govt. College was established on

11-07-1964. Ever since its inception it has been functioning effectively

contributing to National Service. Our unit is mixed in nature i.e., Senior

Division (SD) for men and Senior Wing (SW) for women. At present the

unit has a total strength of 170 cadets including 30 SW cadets.

The founder ANO of the unit is Sri R. Pulla Rao, Second Lieutenant

(1962-66). NCC creates awareness and imparts values of patriotism and

National outlook. It develops the traits of courage, Self discipline, integrity,

sacrifice, hard work, leadership, dignity of labour and preparedness to face

any worst situation in the life. In other words, shapes the personality of the

cadet into a benefiting young citizen.

The Motto of the NCC is “Unity and Discipline”.

Our NCC unit conducts regular parades which includes physical

exercise (1Hr) and lectures on weapon handling, field crafts, maintenance

of health and hygiene (1Hr). The curriculum of NCC also includes National

Integration concepts, Development of Leadership and Cultural traits.

Every year the District Battalion selects the advanced learners for

different camps such as combined Annual Training camps, Army

attachment camps. Thal Sainik Camps, Independence Day Camps, Republic

Day Camps, National Integration Camps, All India Trekking Expeditions,

Camel Safari Camps.

The cadets in these camps are exposed to competition such as

“Moulanker Shooting Competitions”. IMA competitions, Para jumping

and Para Sailing Camps. The cadets are exposed even to Basic

Mountaineering. All these enable them for all round development,

ultimately release the candidate as a benefited citizen.

AIMS OF NCC

To develop character, comradeship, discipline, leadership,

secular outlook, spirit of adventure, sportsmanship and

ideals of selfless service among the youth of the country.

To create a human resource of organized, trained and

motivated youth, to provide leadership in all walks of life

and always be available for the service of the nation.

To provide a suitable environment to motivate the youth to

take up a career in the Armed Forces.

CADET INDUCTION IN NCC Induction into NCC is on voluntary basis and students both boys and

girls can join at the age of 16 years in Senior Division (SD)/Senior Wing (SW).

Eligibility conditions for Certificate Examinations: ‘B’ Certificate:

The candidate must have attended a minimum of 75% of total training periods laid down in the syllabus for the first and second years for Senior Division (SD)/Senior Wing (SW) NCC.

Must have attended one Annual Training Camp/NIC Cadets possessing ‘A’ certificate will be awarded 10 bonus

marks. ‘C’ Certificate:

The candidate must be in possession of Certificate ‘B’ The cadet must be in third year of SD/SW NCC training. The cadet must have attended a minimum of 75% of the

periods of 3rd year syllabus during the academic session. Must have attended Two ATCs or One ATC and in addition

one of the following. a) RD Camp at Delhi. b) Centrally Organized Camp. c) National Integration Camp. d) All India Trekking Expedition (DG NCC organized). e) Attachment Training with Service units. f) All India Mountaineering Expedition (DG NCC organized). g) Any one of the Adventure Courses approved by DG NCC.

3. PERSONAL PROFILE P.RAM MOHAN REDDY Lt. P. Ram Mohan Reddy, Lecturer in Mathematics, alumni of this college was born in 1971 at Yedpally village in Nizamabad District. He completed his school education at their native place and graduation from Osmania University. He pursued post graduation in APPLIED MATHEMATICS and B.Ed. from Osmania University, Hyderabad. He also qualified joint CSIR-UGC (JRF&NET) in the year 1995.

He entered into the Government service through APCSC as a lecturer in Mathematics at Govt. Degree College, Piler, Chittoor District in 1998. He worked there for nine years and then he transferred to this college in November 2007. Presently, he is the in charge of both the Departments Mathematics( UG&PG) as well as Statistics. He also teaching Real Analysis, Advanced Real Analysis, Complex Analysis and Advanced Complex analysis for PG students for the last three years.

5. EXTENSION ACTIVITIES
