ARIZONA FALL LEAUGE The Arizona Fall League has announced organization and staff (managers, pitching coaches, hitting coaches, athletic trainers) assignments for the 2014 Arizona Fall League season that begins Tuesday, October 7. Regarded throughout professional baseball as the finishing school for top prospects since its inception in 1992, the 6-team league features top prospects from every organization in Major League Baseball. The league plays 3 games per day 6 days a week (Monday-Saturday) in 5 Cactus League stadiums. This year, the league adds the new Cubs Park in Mesa as a venue, joining returning sites Camelback Ranch-Glendale, Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, Scottsdale Stadium and Surprise Stadium (two teams). The Major League affiliations for each AFL team are as follows: Surprise Saguaros-Surprise Stadium (Mariners, Red Sox, Reds, Padres and Rangers); Glendale Desert Dogs-Camelback Ranch (Orioles, White Sox, Tigers, Dodgers, Brewers); Peoria Javelinas-Surprise Stadium (Braves, Indians, Royals, Cardinals, Rays); Mesa Solar Sox-Cubs Park (Cubs, Angels, Athletics, Blue Jays, Nationals); Salt River Rafters-Salt River Fields (Diamondbacks, Rockies, Astros, Marlins, Twins) and Scottsdale Scorpions-Scottsdale Stadium (Mets, Yankees, Phillies, Pirates, Giants). Current High Desert Pitching Coach Andrew Lorraine will serve as the Saguaros pitching coach, while AA Jackson trainer B.J. Downie will serve as the teams trainer.
