Our Lenten retreat has taken us on a jour-ney that has brought us to today, After 40 days of prayer, fasting and almsgiving; we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord. Hopefully, we are more changed than when we started this journey over 40 days ago. Like the ‘Elect’ we heard and reflected upon stories of life giving water, light, and new life. To-day, we are resurrected to new life with Christ. The entire Easter season is filled with a joyful spirit. For the next 50 days leading into Pentecost, we will light the Paschal Candle, use the sprinkling rite in place of the penitential rite on Sundays, do a long procession with the gospel book, renew our baptis-mal promises and sing the final blessings with dou-ble ‘Alleluia’s’. During Holy Week various ministries came together to prepare for and serve at the Trid-uum celebrations. They worked hard to add beau-ty and spirituality to each celebration. The music ministry made our worship experience uplifting and transformational. The Arts & Environment commit-tee created a beautiful worship space. The Extraor-dinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Faith For-mation, lectors, sacristans, altar servers, clergy, seminarians and many other ministers came to-gether to manifest what it means to live in com-munion with God. We especially want to say; Con-gratulations Neophytes! This week begins for our newly initiated Catholics a process called Mys-tagogia which means ‘leading into the mysteries’. The newly initiated meet weekly between Easter and Pentecost to explore and confirm the Easter experience. This is the beginning of a life-long continuous conversion in full communion with the Roman Catholic Church. Our Mystagogia this East-er Sunday is Baptism.

Nuestro retiro cuaresmal nos llevo por una jornada que nos hizo llegar hasta esta cele-bración de hoy – domingo de Pascua. Des-pués de 40 días en oración y ayuno, cele-bramos la resurrección de nuestro Señor Jesús. Ojala, estemos más cambiados hoy que cuando comenzamos el retiro hace

más de 40 días. Igual que los ‘Elegidos’ escucha-mos y reflexionamos con los mensajes de agua pura, luz y nueva vida. Hoy, estamos resucitados con Jesús. Toda la temporada de Pascua lleva un espíritu de alegría. Durante Semana Santa varios ministerios se unieron para preparar y servir en las celebraciones del Triduo Pascual. Trabajaron diligentemente para agregar belleza y espirituali-dad a cada celebración. Con su bella música, el ministerio de música hizo de las celebraciones una experiencia edificante y transformante lleván-donos al corazón de la oración. El ministerio de ambiente y decoración crearon un espacio hermo-so para adorar y celebrar. Los ministros extraordi-narios de la Eucaristía, la Formación de Fe, los lectores, los sacristanes, los servidores del altar, el clero, los seminaristas y varios otros ministerios se unieron para manifestar lo que de veras signifi-ca estar en comunión con Dios. Fue maravilloso. Queremos especialmente decir; ¡Felicidades Neó-fitos! Esta semana comienza para los nuevos católicos iniciados un proceso llamado Mysta-gogia que significa ‘entrando en los misterios’. Los nuevos iniciados se reunirán semanalmente entre Pascua y Pentecostés para explorar y confir-mar su experiencia de la Pascua. Este es el co-mienzo de una vida de conversión continuo en comunión con la iglesia católica. La Mystagogia que se celebra esta semana es el Bautismo.

Après avoir relevé les boiteux, les malades, les exclus, les blessés de la vie, il a lui-même été rejeté et broyé. Mais au-delà de toutes les attentes des disciples, Dieu a soutenu, puis relevé et exalté son Serviteur. Pour saint Marc, les femmes sont les seules à avoir osé accompagner Jésus jusqu'à sa mort en croix. Non sans raison, tous les hommes de son groupe se sont enfuis. Au lever du soleil, dans l'air vif et doux du printemps méditerranéen, trois femmes noyées de chagrin marchent vers le sépulcre. Ce sont Marie Madeleine, Marie mère de Jacques le mineur et Salomé, sans doute la femme de Zébédée, les seules parmi les disciples qui aient réussi à suivre Jésus jusqu'à la fin Mais aucune d'elles ni aucun disciple n'a encore la foi. Les femmes ont acheté des parfums pour ensevelir le corps du supplicié comme le prescrivait la loi d'Israël avec une seule idée en tête: “Qui nous roulera la pierre pour dégager l'entrée du tombeau?” L'ayant trouvé vide, elles n'ont pas eu le courage d'annoncer la Résurrection, “parce qu'elles avaient peur!” Dans son récit, saint Marc est plus sobre que les autres. Il ne parle ni d'ange, ni de tremblement de terre, ni d'éclair... mais seulement d'un jeune homme vêtu de blanc qui ressemble à un être venu du ciel. Est-il le Ressuscité lui-même représenté dans la jeunesse d'une vie neuve? En saint Jean (20, 15), Marie Madeleine ne le reconnaîtra pas: elle le prendra pour le jardinier.Le récit de Marc insiste sur des aspects concrets. C'est le Jésus de l'histoire, “Jésus de Nazareth, le Crucifié.” Où est-il? Il n'est pas au tombeau. Il a été relevé par Dieu, il a été ressuscité. C'est en Galilée que les disciples le reverront.
